Ooooh nice.
Ok so i got up ASIO4ALL v2.9
Says WDM Device List:
E-Mu Tracker Pre | Usb
        In: 2x 44.1-192kHz, 32 Bits
     Out: 2x 44.1-192kHz, 32 Bits

But says both are unavailable ("In use by other application?" "MS GS Waveable Synth enabled?")
MS GS synth is not enabled but used by other application..?

I noticed no-one has mentioned anything about read and write cache, one time I had that option change on me (not sure how) and I was getting clicking, in the preferences menu under driver settings I think... are you using read and write cache?

Noticed you said the clicking isn't there when the playing is silent - does this mean you still have audio recorded (albeit silent) during these parts?

Also, can you tell if the clicking is within your recorded audio track (ie. part of the recording?) or is it occurring as a result of the playback?

I think you also said it doesn't happen when exporting, which throws everything off for me....

It almost sounds like you are using you onboard sound card instead of you E-MU.

Go to Preferences(P) - Audio - Devices  Only check off boxes relating to your E-MU in both Input drivers and Output drivers.
Then under driver settings set your Playback and Record timing masters to your E-MU
Under playback and Recording  set Driver Mode to ASIO and chek the box that says Share drivers With Other Programs

Now go back to the Driver settings  and near the bottom it should say ASIO Panel and set your buffers there.  You may have to close Sonar and come back in again to set that.

Your should not have to use the ASIO4ALL as that is just a method of using WDM.  The E-MU should have Native ASIO.

If the E-MU isn't showing up as indicated above the drivers may not be properly installed.  With most USB audio devices you have to ensure that they are always plugged into the same USB Port as it was originally installed on or it could cause a problem with not being found. .
