When did firewire die off on laptops? My DELL Inspiron 1520 has one...

So do my new laptops, but the crippled implementation will not stream 16 channels A to D without dropouts the way my old laptop did.

:-(

I'm planning on trying the latest RME usb stuff someday soon.

Multi-monitors are not mandatory....

...not to mention many situations where they would not be possible at all...

...anyway, SONAR should simply allow to arrange tools for single monitor setups before anything....

...think of those unuseless, silly "hidden" off screen modules in the control bar, for instance...
...what's the thinking behind such a stupid, uncomfortable thing...?

Even "old" control bar could carry more handy VISIBLE tools ALTOGETHER than X1's one...

...new "enthusiasts" may twist it inside out, but fact is that SONAR X1 lacks too many USEFUL and comfortable tools we used to have...

Some nice addictions CAN'T justify MANY losses.... they should have merged new and "classic", not erase (some of) the best things....

too bad... too bad....

Uh oh.  You've done it now.

Any minute, someone will be here to tell you that X1 is MORE intuitive.

..yep, but.... no worries man.... I do not fear "them".....  at all....

I'll tell 'em (over and over again....) X1 is as much "intuitive" as something  that hides almost ANY tool within OFF-SCREEN modules and multi-level MENUS might ever be...

regards.

They are called screensets and they are brilliant, just remember to disable floppy drive in control panel.

...yes... screensets are useful...  but still they can do nothing for those silly newly-hidden control bar modules which should take a movie theater sized screen to be visible all at once...!!!

I have a nice 19'' DELL monitor (not so small, indeed...), which has worked great with all DAWS and particularly with wonderful SONAR 8.5, as tool bars could once be placed everywhere on every side of the workspace.... simply and greatly comfortable..!!! But X1 wants more space... to make less tools visible....!!! In fact I have half of the modules "off-screen"...(...!!!) ...And no tools customization is possible....!!!!
I will never get it, as there can be No serious point in that.... you just get it the (uncomfortable) way it is...

Well, friends, This is what I call a real HUGE "step back"....

Screensets could have been a nice addiction, as they wouldn't have needed taking toolbars away....

I don't reject (some) new improvements, but as I said before, they should have been merged with classic powerful features....

This way instead, SONAR, for some SERIOUS aspects,  feels simply poorer.......
