The power of the SEARCH....

I was thinking about what monitor to get because I think I am going to have to have more resolution with X1 (well, I know I am). My first thought was to post a question but then I decided to use the SEARCH function. I searched "monitor resolution" minus the "" I got this:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/search.aspx?searchid=412167&high=monitor%20resolution

I quickly learned, much more quickly than posting a question and waiting for answers, that what I want is a 1920x1200 24" monitor... or at the least a 1920x1080 23" monitor... however I will get the 24" and also use either my laptop screen or one or two Dell flatscreens I already have.

The threads that were quickly useful in the search results are:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2261297&high=monitor+resolution
and
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2238756&high=monitor+resolution

Sometimes I forget about how useful the SEARCH function here is, so I thought I would post my results since Ididn't have to post a question. Use the search... there is a lot of good info here and it is easy to dig it out, or you can ask... but the search is way faster.

BTW, if anyone sees a good sale on a 24" 1920x1200 shoot me a PM. Sometimes sales come and go really fast. I used to check WOOT everyday but since I got this new computer I had forgotten.

Have a great day!

Julien

the only problem i have with this .is it would be nice if we could extend the controlbar so we could see every thing in it.ie.-show all options that are hidden in the control bar.

Can't get search to work in Forum recently.  I searched for Rapture and only one page of results and most were very old- nothing since May.  I know there are some X2 problems and there is supposed to be a Reg hack to fix it, but I can't find it with Forum Search.  I have used Search a lot in the past and it seemed to work great so don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

BTW- I found this thread by searching for Search- I was trying to find out if anyone else was having problems with Search.

Well, there's always Google- seems to do a pretty good job of including the Forum results.

Cheers and I'm loving X2 so far, except Rapture keeps asking for a registration but it won't take the one Cake gave me.  I already had the full version of 1.2, but now nothing.

Wouldn't you know the Rapture thread would pop to the top while I was typing my last post.  Still wonder why search is not working, though.

The 1920x1200 monitors are hardish to find - which is stupid because they are SO much better than 1920x1080! That has just become the norm due to consumer understanding of 1080p, so the market isn't probably as high for these higher resolution screens! The price tends to be a fair bit higher on them too, due to less mass production. The public just doesn't know about them!

    1920x1200 forever!

This little picture is nice to look at screen resolutions with http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Vector_Video_Standards4.svg&page=1
