I recall X1 also being described as the "most successful" version of SONAR ever.

The words 'successful' and 'best' are obviously subjective descriptors, and as such cannot be definitively proved or disproved, so I guess anyone can, and will, readily attach them to their products.

However, Cakewalk's lack of objective accolades to substantiate these claims leads me to believe that these claims are little more than generic advertising copy.

Being a small company with an extremely loyal customer base, I'd really expect better than this from Cakewalk.

As far as Sonar X1 being the most successful version of Sonar ever. That is probably a legitimate claim.  It simply means Sonar X1 has sold more copies than any other version of Sonar so far.

Wow....turning off a forum topic that you don't agree with is not cool.

FWIW- I have used Sonar FOR YEARS.  Loved it.  X1, on the other hand, has been nothing but trouble for me.  I still love Sonar, and will continue to monitor the forums, hoping for patches that fix everything.  However, there are a few things that Sonar just can't "patch" right, like vst3 support, easy midi mapping and gapless audio engine.  I had a grammy award winning writer in my studio last month and got embarrassed by X1 being screwy.  He actually asked my "why don't you have a mac?"  Gentleman...I think you know what it feels like to be asked that.  God....it burned me up.

I have been telling anyone that will listen to try Studio One.  I tried the demo and bought it one hour later.  While it does not have ALL of the features of Sonar, it has enough to do production for acts that are signed to major labels (I have done projects with 2 so far).  I actually still prefer recording live in Sonar 8.5.3, but I think it is just because I am not familiar enough with Studio One's multitracking.  For production, however,......HANDS DOWN STUDIO ONE.

JMHI.

sonar is by far the best daw. It is the swiss army knife.

I just took a project entirely finished in 44k with 35 tracks and updated the entire thing to 96k using mostly mass export track template.  All plugins and vsts are now upsampled and it sounds amazing.  Try anthing like in in about 10 minutes in any other daw period
