It might strain your system if your computer isn't up to par. Also the presets can take a particularly long time to load. And uhh.. the GUI is a little bland and uhh...

OK, that's all I got. Aside from that, it's pretty awesome. I was lucky enough to get my copy for free (yes, I AM bragging) but for $500 (or whatever it is), it is an absolute steal. Seeing as how you already have it in your hands, I'm assuming you'll find out for yourself real soon! :)

Just built a new system and actually its cruising right along.  Said the install would take 45 minutes a disc with 6 discs was planning an all nighter.  With my new rig the whole install took 45 minutes.  I heard the same with the patches loading slow but it's almost instantaneous on my machine.  So far very happy.  Took a minute to figure out how to get trillian library to show up but got it figured out also.  The few sounds I have been through are really cool.  Enough for now time to play......

I am thinking about picking up Omnisphere this weekend.  Anyone want to try and talk me out of it?

Dont do it!  Think about your future generations!

If you read my signature I think you could answer that one yourself?

I saw your system and, yes, I'm confident it would run most anything.  However, I have no idea what the requirement for the software is, plus you did ask to talk you out of it.  So I thought I'd ask.

Thanks... I don't need this... don't need it... I will not think about it.. I didn't go to the homepage and look at it. I will never go and watch the videos... I don't need it and I don't want it...

Why did you post this??

Seriously, it looks really good. I look forward to hearing what you do with it. It has an incredible list of patches and the touch app is really cool too!

The good news: I just picked up a new, unopened copy of Omnisphere on EBay for $365 (incl. shipping).

The bad news: I just had to place an order for a new DAW computer that I'll need to run it on (replacing my 9 year old P4 dual core relic).  Price: $1700.  Ouch!

nope I bought it a while ago.  kind of why I have been pretty inactive on the forums lately as I can't quit playing with it. I own a bunch of soft synths but this thing is on another level.  I also recently picked up an ipad and the touch control for this is loads of fun......I now own all 3 of Spectrasonics offerings and they are all top notch......  I don't use trillian much anymore as you can use all it's soundsources inside spectrasonics.  I also picked up the moog tribute library which has some great stuff in it.  If anyone is on the fence about omnisphere just do it you won't regret it.
