I knew people here would close up ranks and defend Bapu/Ed (not that's bad although I think he can defend himself). I understand humor of all kinds but sometimes it's just not warranted, and for those of us on the East Coast who don't routinely experience these things it wasn't welcome. I can make all kinds of comments and jokes about things but I've learned through sad experience to temper what I say. Won't bore you with the details but it damned near cost me my marriage. Now I tailor what I say to the situation; it may not change what I think internally but it affects what I put out to the world at large.
Sure, Ed can defend himself. Mostly, I was just trying to explain our West Coast (earthquake country) perspective and--it was just a guess--why the statement may have seemed sarcastic. I don't think anyone in the CH can't defend themselves or should we take ourselves too seriously. I've already gotten too long-winded on this subject. I think I'm probably done with this thread. Best wishes on everyone's health and safety.

Nothing significant. I only had the incident I related in another thread. Considering we are on a huge ball spinning with molten lava inside, pulled by magnetic and gravitaional forces on the outside, we made out pretty well over here.

One noticeable aftershock about an hour later, a tiny one I didn't feel, then a bigger one several hours after that sent the kitten into a new panic. No new damage. Louisa County has been busted up a mite though. :-\

Obama also announced that the Secret Service and Maxine Waters continues an investigation of the quake's suspicious ties to the Tea Party. Conservatives however have proven that it was caused by the founding fathers rolling over in their graves!

Awakened at 1:08 by yet another aftershock, this one just 4.5 mag. Still kind of creepy in a place where historically the ground has almost always been immobile.

No worries, there's been little damage except around Louisa County itself and in D.C. where the big buildings are. Here in the Richmond area, much closer to Mineral than D.C. is, damage is minimal. *thanks lucky stars*
