Beagle Tests were NEGATIVE for cancer!!! WOO HOOO! Praise the Lord!!! Of course that means we haven’t gotten to the bottom of why I’m having the abdominal pain, but I’d much rather find out it’s NOT cancer than to have to deal with that. I am hoping that my pain is coming from the gall stones only. My GI doctor thinks it must be more than that because of the severity of the pain, but the surgeon is pretty sure it’s just the gall stones and wants to remove my gall bladder. I have a follow up with the GI doctor next week and I think at this point we’ll just look forward for gall bladder surgery and then see how things go from there. Beagle, I suggest you check something what's called trigger points - it can mimic gall stones and any other problems inside the body. I had similar problems and they went away just after series of special massages.

That is good news. I hope they find the real cause of the discomfort without resorting to the knife.

I'm a little late to this party, but that's fantastic news, Reece. I'll be praying for you as you work through the next round of dianostics. Hopefully, your vet will have you back on your feet soon.

Beagle Hi Mike, thank you and I am not offended or threatened by your advice at all. I have been seriously considering those very things, yes, I'm very well aware of it. I am not 100% certain I want to have my gall bladder removed. I think the medical community (and I use that term loosely) tends to remove gall bladders "willy nilly on the fly" to coin a southern phrase. I think the surgery is done way too often without considering the consequences. After all, God only gave me one gall bladder. I assume I need it - why should I let someone remove it??? Why don't they think I need it?? I will be weighing the cost and benefits of gall bladder surgery against the pain I am having. I am currently on a high fiber diet and though I have not had an attack in several weeks, that's certainly no true indication that the high fiber diet has resolved the pain. I've gone months without attacks before. so if a high fiber diet can keep me pain free then I am certain I'd rather keep my gall bladder. If, however, the pain continues then I think I have no choice at this point since we've pretty much ruled out every kind of possibility of anything else, even exotic diseases or conditions. thanks again for your advice, it is well recevied. FWIW ... I had my Gall Bladder removed 14 years ago and I can eat anything and it doesn't bother me. It doesn't effect everyone the same. The other thing too ... if you've never had your Appendix removed, you may want to ask your doctor about doing that at the same time as well. I know a few people who had both done at the same time.

thanks everyone!!! I'm very happy that the big C results are negative! bub - that's good to hear. FWIW they did check my appendix in a couple of different tests and said it was healthy.

kc2ine Beagle, I suggest you check something what's called trigger points - it can mimic gall stones and any other problems inside the body. I had similar problems and they went away just after series of special massages. I have more information about trigger points and there are some boards that you can put special pegs into (and then lay on) to help you get rid of the trigger points by yourself.

Yee-haw! ;) Glass of becan juice? And there's a natural way to rid yourself of gallstones (besides just high-fiber diet, which is good for anyone anyway.) I'll see if I can find an electronie copy of it.
