The Funk Brothers The Tubes Live Black Crowes I really like these bands. They gave, and still give, 100% high octane shows but never seemed to really knock it out of the park. They never became Elvis, the Beatles or the Stones. The funk brothers helped create hits that sold more than the Beatles and Stones combined. Although I'm sure everyone knows the. There's likely many thousand acts like that. My buddy Zero was in one such band. It is the quintessential one hit wonder story. The band is "The Kings", and no this is not an advertisement. They had a hit "Switchin to Glide, This Beat Go's On" If you Google it, the kings or Mr. zero, you'll find it interesting. You've never hears of these guys, but I'm pretty sure if you listen to the tune you'll know it. Bob Ezrin produced it. Best part of all, the band finally got its publishing back from the record company last year.
Regards, John I want to make it clear that I am an Eedjit. I have no direct, or indirect, knowledge of business, the music industry, forum threads or the meaning of life. I know about amps. Mr. Bungle. Not mainstream enough, but, man, I would have taken another one like California anytime. It's still one of my all-time favorite albums. Might be a good thing they just decided to quit though. Voivod. Fellow Quebecers. For a while, it almost seemed like they'd make it - they were held in the highest esteem by their peers, from Soundgarden to Metallica. But they got the big record deal, the big producer they'd always wanted, and it just flopped so miserably. They went back to the underground after MCA dropped them. Jason from Metallica even joined them for a while. Piggy was one of the most original rock/metal guitar players I've ever heard - sounded like no one else. Those odd chord voicings were unheard of in that genre... Nothingface is an amazing album.

Kirsty McColl--while she had some success in the U.S.--I have no idea how popular she was in the U. K. or the rest of the world--I think she wrote good hook-friendly songs without getting to be bubble gum and she had a wicked sense of humor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpTavz2mWWw

Rain Mr. Bungle. One of my son's favorite. Trey Spruance produced Impaled's Death After Life CD. My son is in Impaled. Three degrees of Kevin Becan separation for me and Mr. Bungle.
