Plugin Alliance - New Deal Every Day in December!
https://plugin-alliance.com/en/xmasc.html?door=1 First up: SPL Transient Designer for $89 I looked all over for a bargain on this plugin during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, but nada. I missed out on the $79 deal a month or so ago, but this is close enough for me. Bought it and received it instantly.

I am afraid I might buy too many of these. There are a few I haven't bought because of price and now that is not an issue! Very happy and checking back everyday!

I'm still resisting the urge to buy Alpha Compressor before it ends. The funny thing is, these deals go longer than one day because, apparently, they start in New Zealand time and go through the date in every time zone. So, not only do the daily deals overlap, they each go for nearly two days. If Mpressor ends up at $99 or less, I'll defintely be buying it.

I'm currently demo'ing their amp sim as I was looking for an alternative to the pricey Avid Eleven for hi gain amps. Not bad at all.

Personnally, I find that "Maag" is efficient particularly on female vocal, BUT NOT on every type of vocal ! On the opposite, the "Vertigo compressor" is high class with premium quality ! (I don't know if it is cpu heavy ?) "Bx Meter" also could be interesting because his équivalent which is free (Dynamic Range, or something like that) is said to have stability issue

Today is the SPL Vitalizer. Anyone have any experience with this plug? I hear the hardware is worth its weight in gold.

I've bought three of their plugs in the past few weeks and I like all of them. The only other one I still really really want is PassEQ. Hopefully they'll have a deal on it soon..

Does it worth buying all these plugins whereas we have Prochannel modules plus all cakewalk plugins ?

peter434 Does it worth buying all these plugins whereas we have Prochannel modules plus all cakewalk plugins ? All of these plugins are considered high quality, but any question of worth can only be answered by you and can only be answered on a per-plugin basis. If one of these plugins interests you, demo it, compare it to your existing plugins, and decide if the difference in quality is worth the price to you. Also, remember that not everybody here only uses Sonar. For me, I typically won't buy a plugin if it's not offered in both 64-bit VST and RTAS/AAX for Pro Tools, my other main DAW, or if it is locked to one application, like Sonar's plugins are, because I expect my plugin purchases to work in ALL of my hosts (i.e., PT, Wavelab, and Maschine). So, to me, Sonar's Pro Channel and bundled plugins rank pretty low on my "worth it" scale, because they don't meet all of these criteria. Your values are probably much different than mine, so it's up to you to determine if they're worth it or not.

Hi cryophonik There was a misunderstanding about the term "worth"; I'm French and many times, Google traduction does not give the perfect translation. By "worth", I didn't think about the financial aspect but about the "plus" tool value that tiers plugin could deliver in comparison with the Sonar plugins arsenal, which is growing in number as new sonar versions are succeeding... I was considering buying the Vertigo at it was 60% off, but cannot compare it with the internal plugs of Sonar because : 1) I still have not Sonar, will receive it in some days and 2) the Brainworx Christmas discount sale for each plug is only 1/2 days and it's too short... So, I just wanted to know if there was a genuine qualitative big difference or if we can have identical sonic results with some internal plugins, (even if I know there are subtle nuances which are hard to compare depending of various factors...) Sorry again for the misunderstanding. Pierre

So, I just wanted to know if there was a genuine qualitative big difference or if we can have identical sonic results with some internal plugins, (even if I know there are subtle nuances which are hard to compare depending of various factors...) Sorry again for the misunderstanding. Pierre Hi Pierre - no problem! I understand what you're asking now and it's definitely a reasonable question. The Plugin Alliance plugins are held in high regard among serious producers/musicians, but I've only had hands-on experience with a few of them, so maybe someone else here can chime in with their opinions. Many of their plugins fill niches that other developers haven't really attempted to fill. For example, the Elysia Alpha Compressor that was on sale a few days ago is a highly touted mastering compressor with some mid/side features and filtering that you won't find in any of Sonar's plugins. But, I think it's safe to say that, generally speaking, most of us (esp. us hobbyists) don't need those features and probably have less appreciation for the differences in sonic quality that it would offer over other compressors. To me, it's definitely not worth $299, but I definitely considered it at $119. Then, rationality got in the way and I started to realize that it would probably end up being just another good deal added to my already large pile of compressor plugins (far more than I need or even use), so I let it pass. That said, I will be buying the Mpressor when it goes on sale because it has some unique tricks up its sleeve and because it's one that I've wanted for a long time, but could never justify the price tag. One plugin that I did buy was the SPL Transient Designer, which I've wanted for a long time. I own several other transient designers (e.g., Sonar's bundled one, Sonnox TransMod, Flux Bittersweet), but IMO the SPL version sounds the best and is the most effective for shaping transients of all the transient designers I've owned/demoed. To me, it's probably worth the $199 normal price, but I just remained patient and got it for $89, which was a no-brainer for me. That said, Sonar's bundled transient designer is no slouch and compares quite favorably to the more expensive SPL and Sonnox versions. But, as I mentioned above, I can't use Sonar's version in my other hosts, so I tend to favor my third-party versions.

Thanks a lot for your answer and precisions cryophonik ! Now, finally, after your answer,I regret a bit to not have jumped on the Vertigo plug deal but I console myself as I bought Elysia Alpha.
