Don't hold your breath. A blue McQ isn't as valuable as the natural finish.

So Danny... >I can see that you're kind of new around here so maybe it's not obvious to you precisely what version I'm using. See sig. No it's not, and as an old timer you should know better (and this coming from a "newbie"). Are you using X1C, X1B or whatever.... 32 bit or 64 bit? > If you want to see about bugs, do a search on old pianodano since about 2004. Sorry I do not have time to research your threads! and anything prior to X1C is simply not worth complaining about. If you have issues with X1C you could easily list them as a summary. > That's why I bought X1 - to get bugs fixed that were if 8.5. Newer operating systems provide reliability and performance improvements (well maybe with the exception of Vista, although when it's patches up it can be pretty good as well). Go 64 bit if you can (and increase your RAM, this is the 21st centuary) if you haven't already. Ask yourself why people are getting a different experience to you.... then again as an old timer I'm just teaching you to suck eggs right? I do love the "Fanboy" jibes, I see this being used in multiple software forums (not just Cakewalk) and it's almost alway been used by people who are running old software, or haven't been able to sort the their hardware or software config (and who move more towards generalisation or distraction (marketing) rather than the specifics). I'm not saying X1 is perfect (I've logged around 10 bugs myself, out of which only 1 really concerns me and can be easily worked around) but then no software is.

but I'm hoping Cakewalk changes the GUI layout again and creates an even newer layout that will, ironically, look a lot like the 8.5 layout Yeah... Perhaps a version or two after Melodyne ARA integration?

pianodano Now why does everyone want to get so pithy just because I asked if you'd seen the add stating PT maintains consistent workflow ? because your quoting marketing speak, simple as that. I obviously haven't seen the advert.. as we don't have sweet water this side of the pond. Name me a company that DOESN'T go on about workflow ? .. thats my point, they are hardly gonna say well instead of using are rivals instead of one mouse click you need 20 hehe I use a number of things beside sonar... I used to install PT rigs as part of a job years ago ( when it was insane money to buy) .. would I buy into it now ? nope... and doubt I ever will because to me it's a closed shop. because I've used a number of things... from ST days , whether it be because of work or my own stuff I had to learn constantly. Remember what you did years ago and how FAR easier it is now ? I just see folk post and well it seems sonar hadn't changed gui wise THAT much in a long time (I've only been here since v7) . Other things I use changed a lot more in the same time.. so to me I wasn't THAT stressed about it changing (says the man who still goes out to DOS window to do certain things) I don't think the interface takes that long to learn.. hence why I mentioned Scott's book and or the videos. but it's the whole thing of the interface and of course the usual "things look brighter elsewhere" , things aren't that different across the board if they were everyone would be buying 1 brand / product and nothing else.

mike_mccue Yes, exactly... what I have written is my opinion. I paid for my X1E update but I'm hoping Cakewalk changes the GUI layout again and creates an even newer layout that will, ironically, look a lot like the 8.5 layout. I hope Cakewalk does it real soon too. best regards, mike Mike I seriously doubt that they will do that. They may have lost a few old timers (yes a few, is less than 25 in my mind) Not saying that's a good thing. Just that they have thousands of users (That's a guess of course). I have said before I agree about certain things, like the dead space for one. That is not cool. But, for me, many things are great and I like them. As do the overwhelming majority of others if you haven't noticed. I have counted , more than once the heavy negative posts and I'm outta here type stuff. Well, I never got above 15 Mike. I cannot believe you are not tired of it. Really. Have a good night Mike
