Hi Steve,

'In The Bleak Midwinter' would be a good title for a metal tune so I was totally ( and pleasantly ) surprised to hear this beautiful carol.

Lovely arrangement, playing and mix.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for checking it out Rik - the point you raise about the reverb levels is a good one, I fully intend to experiment along those lines.

Wow, thanks Mark

James, your kind words are appreciated.

LOL Julien - that was the original idea! Thanks for the comments and I'm glad you enjoyed it good sir.

Kev, thanks man - "piano + distortion pedal" sounds like a great combination!

All the sounds are from Dimension Pro and Garritan Pocket Orchestra and I was pleased with how they turned out.

Many thanks Gary - and a great idea for using the name for a metal song!

Very nice, Steve. Very, very nice. And yes, orchestration is a humongous learning curve! My, oh my... But this is just beautiful. About the keys....just grab all those notes and pull down the velocities a bit. That will add a bit of warmth to them. And fiddle with the pedal markings a bit in staff view. It seems like even a millimeter to one side makes a huge difference to making the transitions sound nice. Reverb wouldn't hurt either, like Rik says. Very well done and a great start on your orchestral repertoire! :)

Not what i'd normaly expect to hear from you Steve, but good nontheless. Nice arrangement. I could imagine some female vocals sounding good over the top of this one.

Very nice Strammy! I don't know the actual song but your rendition is lovely.
My only crit is the piano feels very unnatural. Maybe you could humanize it or something?

Check out my band's song on YouTube!

I really like the job you did on this.  I've never heard the song but really like the lyrics.  You performance is great.  Did you do all the instruments.  They really fit in together in the mix.  Holy cow, what a great job on this one!!

Wow, brother Strummy without a guitar.  The orchestration was really lovely.  You did a great job on this Steve.  Hope we don't lose you the philharmonic or something.

This just can't be the Steve that I know!!   Being a Connecticut redneck, I don't think I've heard this song before, but it was a pleasure & surprise to hear you performing this!! A very 'majestic' vibe and in great keeping with the holiday spirit. I'll take more of this please!

Hi Steve,

Sorry I'm late to the party on this. If I don't catch them while they're on the first page, I usually never do. :(

This is very nice. I don't hear anything I would suggest you change on it. I was expecting to hear you sing when I saw the words. :)

@Danny ... Thanks for the compliment. :) Actually, I should be thanking Roland for V-vocal. ;) HEH.
