Hi Daryl...love the song and the smoothness and cohesion of all of the elements! The first technical impression I had was the perceived lack of cymbals. On occasion, the 16th notes done on the hi-hat would pop out (like at 1:27), I would think 'oh, there they are'...then they disappeared back into the depths. I didn't really hear any cymbal hits (maybe there aren't any, which is ok), but the hats seemed to have gotten lost as well (other than the 16th notes in those couple of sections, but especially with the vocals going). I feel if they are brought up just a tad in the mix, they will add a little 'sparkle' to the song, without taking away any of the smoothness of the vocals and guitar tones. Maybe set the HH level like at 1:27, or better yet, raise them just a tad, and lower the parts similar to 1:27 so they are more consistent in volume throughout the entire song. Just my $.02 worth, nice job!

Cliff - I didn't do any professional tests on my room, I just put up about $400 of studio foam, on all the open spaces. I could hear the difference immediatley. If your talking as you walk in my studio now, you can hear the sound quiet right down. Pretty cool and it was also immediatly noticable on anything being mic'ed. Steve, Robert - Thank you for the listen, glad you liked it. Jeff - You're new so I will let you in on my hearing problem. I have a hell of a time hearing cymbals and when I get them up to where I can hear them... they're too loud. I struggle with that and tend to err on them being too quiet as that tends to be less offensive. You're no doubt dead right and thanks for letting me know. My other problem is I have no concept of being a drummer, I spent too many years just leaving it up to the drummer and never really seriously considered the nuances, that was a mistake that I'm now paying for. I need to find a drummer who will work cheap.

Hi Daryl , WOW man your sounding really good on this song  this is the best I've ever heard you great writing , tasty singing , nice groove, very good guitar playing & tone w such understated restraint & taste , I really dug that harmonized end of the guitar solo , you did real nice mix on this song that's the good news now for the funky news I did hear something that wasn't quite right & well, i just can't seem to put my finger on it I'm thinking it might be that Carr amp your playing your guitar out of I would be happy to look at it and diagnose it for you Kenny
