Not receiving output signal

I was able to record some drums straight from my workstation keyboard as a midi controller into a midi channel earlier, but now I don't see any output showing. I think I may have changed some options somewhere not knowing what have happened. In the "Midi Devices" options I enabled my audio interface as the IN, and for OUT I select my workstation keyboard driver. Now when I armed record/select input echo on, trigger the keys, I don't see any output showing. However, if I select a pencil tool and draw the notes into the virtual piano sequencer I'm able to see the output level. But I shouldn't have to draw in the notes right? I could simply trigger my keyboard and still able to see the output showing. Does anybody have an idea what might cause this to stop?

This is pretty suck, and when convert midi to audio it lag. No use.
