I think I commented on the other one.

Very cool stuff! I think 80s is incorrect though. It is definitly reminiscent of 70s Deep Purple (probably my fav band of all time). It also reminds me of an old song, "Drivers Seat" by Sniff n the tears.

Excellent work by all!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Big thanks to Frank, Al, Warren, Lynn, Wookiee, Radio, Strummy, Lance, Mark, Bapu, Bob, Larry, Tim, and Robert.

Frank, yes a bit of Melodyne use going on especially, on the harmonies.

Robert, yea though I wrote it in the 80's, the addition of Paul's sax and Dave B3 made my old old tracks sound out of place so I redid all the guitars to try to match the tone they were setting. Glad I captured that 70's sound, that was the target.

New mix up, I picked up that mastering video that is posted in one of the forums here for $1. I went through most of the suggested procedures, however I didn't like any of the results of my multiband compressor so for now this is as close to mastered as I'm able at this time.

Grant,
I love the song and the performances are great.  I am listening on cans so take this with a grain of salt but.... The distorted guitars sound thin, mabe a bit over compressed (though that was common for the era) and a little low in the mix to me.   Also.... I think you might De ess a bit.  Around 1:35 on the line "promiSe me you'll Stay around"  It comes through a lot. Nice vocal performace though!

Thanks Grant.  Plenty of hoops to jump through to buy a 99 cent product, but I made it through.  :)  Didn't see the section about final EQing. Is that included in the video?

Thanks Chuck, I'll have a look at the compression on the guitars as far as the level, Bapu get all just like Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain man when I raise the rhythm level on this one. He probably does have a much better recollection of how things sounded in the 70's, all I remember is Star Wars from back then. Thanks I'll have a look at the sibilance in that section. Thanks again. Yes Janet you will have the eq segment first in that tutorial

Grant, your vocals have never sounded better. I like the modulation on the keys. Straightforward bass track by Gramps. solid drums. I like the guitars too. Gramps is that your kid on piano? Good job. A fun tune, fellas.

Hi Grant,

Great song! Really catchy sax line, organ sounds fantastic.

I don't know that I've heard you sing before...the vocal sounds great, though.

Man, you're just tearing it up on the guitar! Outstanding performances by everyone.

Big thanks Mark, Gary and Eric.

Wow you have a great ear Mark, modulation is the name of the CW plug I put on the keys.

Glad you like the solo Gary.

Sorry taking so long, but there is going to be a final mix done this weekend I hope just finishing up a few overdue collabs.

Big thanks to Eric, James, Kev, and Scotty. I just updated to what I think is going to be my final mix on this. I did take Chuck's suggestion and made the rhythm guitars a bit more prominent. As some folks know this is the first thing that I produced myself that is not a bunch of mud. I must also give thanks regards to Beagle, Randy, Rob, Bill, Doc and Strummy from the old GT forum for your nurturing. Jonbouy for the plugin tips Ferric is the bomb. Thanks again Bapu and Danny for being consultants on this one.

Hey, Brother G, it was great to hear this fine tune again.  Same stellar line up, but Dave's drums really do make a difference.  I'm really liking the vocal, though, as Danny mentioned, it could use s bit of thickening.  But, I think you must have re-done the vocal since I last heard it.  Both vocals were good, but this time around you really seemed to be feeling it, and the personality comes thru adding tremendously to the overall tone.  Great job by all.
