Track Sheets

Just wondering what options are available for track sheets (to keep track of tracks and session notes). I don't see any such feature in Sonar, which is ok. I made a track sheets file in Filemaker that I used for tracking in the Roland VS1680, which worked great, and I could easily modify it to use with Sonar.

Does anyone have any suggestions otherwise, or what do you use?

There's also a "Description" field in the "Track Properties" dialog for making track-specific notes. Right+click on a track (or doubleclick anywhere on a track except for a widget or the track number) and select "Track Properties". The "Description" field is at the bottom of the dialog. Only downside is there's no way to print the information.

Just out of curiosity, would a file readout like the below (done automatically with a button push) fill this need? Am thinking about polishing this up, but am not sure of the demand...

That list might indeed be useful. I would say figure out a way to indent the "track name" line. Have it show up a little to the left of all of the other data. That would be easier on the eyes, and help to quickly find the desired track.

If using Excel I would use a string formula to create the indent

Assuming first cell of data is a5, put the following formula in c5 and copy down:

    =IF(ISERR(FIND("Name",A5,1))=TRUE," "&A5,A5)

Crikey. I'd show the results in this post, but the forum strips out all of the spaces in each line's prefix. Oh, well, it does work.

Turns out, the indent is pretty easy to implement in software (and a good idea - thanks). Wanted to make sure that the idea of a "track sheet" in this thread would be served by a list of track and bus info (including fx and track eq parameters, and track send info). At present, there isn't a way to automatically access synth rack info.

By the way, how do you access all of that data? Hex editor? Trade secret? I'm just curious. I couldn't find any kind of project data export feature within Sonar.

My solution would be installed as a Control Surface. Control Surfaces have access to all that stuff.
