Audio Playback not working

I have guitar pro 4 and for some reason the files started playing really poorly.  The playback is completely distorted and garbled.  What gives?  I just had to reinstall everything a month ago because I was prompted too.  I used to have no issues wiht playback; if my headphones were in it would play through the headphones, and when unplugged it would switch to the computer speakers.  Now it is making me play with the manually to get any sound out at all, changing the output, and when I do get it set up its not muffled, distorted, and garbbled!!

Hi there Ryan, welcome to the forum.

Firstly, this is just a peer to peer users' forum - not Technical Support - so I'd strongly suggest you edit your original post and remove your registration number.

You say you were prompted to reinstall GTPro4 - can you remember any details of why?

Also, are you still using the same soundcard that you were using when everything worked OK? What soundcard are you using now?

Ryan - Is this during regular playpack or is it while you are recording?
Sometimes if I am using alot of tracks and effects and I am recording
I get break up and it screws with the tempo. I found if I mute the effects
and buses while recording this doesn't happen. I don't know if this could
be whats going on with you, but my playbacks fine if the record light
    isn't off.

Thanks, for the reply.  Sorry for the delay but I figured I would get an email notification if anyone replied.

SteveStrummer -  I actually wasnt' prompted to reinstall, I just did so after all of my tracks playback was garggled - however this didn't work and I'm still without a solution.

Jim622 - it during playback only!  All my files, same typed of low level, garbbled, muffled... just awful sound, with barely being able to make out the beat and with none of the original tonal qualities that should be heard.

SteveStrummer - apologies, originally when I reinstalled I was prompted when opening.  I do not remember the specifics.

    Ryan,

Have you optimized Windows yet? This could help you a long ways. If you need help with optimization of your PC. Try this link here.

Also some specifics about your PC would help. For instance, tell us:
    Windows Version
Sound card (internal PC or external pro audio card)
If external sound card, make and model.
    Buffer settings
    Driver used (WDM, ASIO, etc.)
    Sample rate and bit depth.

This should be fairly quick to sort out. Just give us some more details.

wow... i obviously am a novice as just those question are hard for me to answer...

    Windows 7 Home Premium

When I click open the Sound, video and game controllers tab in device manager it says this:
    AMD High Definition Audio Device
    Bluetooth Hands Free-Audio
    Cyberlink WebCam
    IDT High Definition Aucio CODEC

Opening up one of my tracks it looks like depth of 16, rate of 44100

I'm not sure about Driver used of buffer settings  : (

    wait... Driver mode MME (32-Bit)

I dont see anything about buffer.

More info about my computer:  HP Pavillion DV6 Notebook
Processor: AMD A*-3530MX with Radeon HD Graphics
    RAM 6GB, 64-bit operating system.

    Thanks!
