I have never in my life so much as breathed into mic that cost more than $300.

Aren't you supposed to sing into a mic?

You breathe into one of those tubes the police shove in your mouth when they stop you @ 2:15Am.

Any suggestions?

Stop looking in the mirror and go listen to some comedy singing and monkey'ing around.

If all you can study and try to do is "be in tune" ... you're not paying attention to the words and your feelings ... you're just being another nobody in the band!

Make the words change the music, instead of you becoming a part of the music ... tell them where to shove those instruments if they don't work with/for you.

If we had listened to your comment, even Joe Cocker would have been laughed off the face of the earth.

Now, Bapu ... grow up and let's do this again! And with feeling this time instead of ideas about the notes and what they are supposed to be! If you don't behave you will have to go do a rendition of Randy Racquel ... so you can learn!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Stop wasting your dosh on every silly little plugin that comes down the pike, and begin buying LDC, Tube and Ribbon mics! Minimum you should spend on the first one is $1000.00. If it doesn't work for you, buy another but spend more on it. Keep going til your satisfied.

Pfffft! How hard is this?

Randy

I think I will go have a little cry.

No need to cry Julie. Pipes like yours will sound good no matter what the mic. In another forum, a guy asked about Alison Krauss, and what she used to get that great sound she gets in the studio. After a bit, her producer chimed in and said here is the proper technique. 1) Get Alison Krauss to sing......

Well Bapu, if that's the case it's time to get your instrument in shape. Please assume the proper posture and resonate until you hit the mark.

But if Bapu has already achieved the absolute height of lowness of substandard singing, how can further lowness be gained?

How about a reality TV show about Bapu recording his singing?

I've always found that just when I thought the lowest of the low has been achieved, reality TV proves me wrong. Very, very wrong.
