I have never tried selecting the mains.... I've always done it at the track level.... and it works fine...

Next time I am in the DAW, I will try the mains.

I've been mixing a project for a client and the mixes that are bounced (exported) sound, well, different than they do in Sonar.

"Cakewalk Product Support"
if some soft synths are rendering audibly different then how they play back in your project, it may be related to your BounceBufSizeMsec variable setting.

Ref: Bouncing audio abnormally slow / rendered soft synths sound different from playback

A longshot? Probably, but I've seen weirder things in my days.

Kalle your point is a good one only who is doing that? I didn't notice that being said.

The title says: exported mix
I just figured that after export most people don't use SONAR to listen to their music files.

I do LOL. All I have to say is well done Kalle!

The reason I use Sonar is because its hooked up to the near field monitors. The on board sound chip goes to another set of speakers. That is where WMP would output.  Besides I don't think I would use WMP ever to playback something I wanted to hear for critical listening.

Well, here,my li'l UA25-EX is the only thing selected in Windows "Playback Devices" and "Recording Devices",so my desktop soundcard is never in the equation,so If I burn a CD,and pop it in it still gets played by my UA25-EX,and monitors.

Everything usually sounds the same here, with THAT set up,BUT on my XPS laptop, where if I play say Led Zeppelin "All of my Love"[79]on CD with WMP, and import it into Sonar, its definitely less open and bright than playing the CD in WMP [all enhancements OFF!],but that is a laptop, and a whole other story.

After just under 1 year with 1st computer and X1,this thread has helped clear up a couple export/master/pre master questions, that I never quite sussed, but today I recorded something of substance [I think?] So it's all cool really,THANKS>

I think being old physically is dawning on me,and Man I find learning very slow.

Sincerity usually not a problem, Bob S.

Thread killing is though.
