Did I spell it wrong? Chili. It is a northern dish. But a southern also. Much of the tribal history has been lost between south and north South America-Mexico. I don't even like to use the label Mexico because it is a very latter day label of those regions. After the fall of the empires of that region, Mexico was born. There are many remnants of earlier civilizations incorporated into "Mexico". Hence the massive tribal splits within Mexico.
