JoanMichele What I really would like to see, is the ability to bounce a MIDI clip, or a selection of MIDI notes into audio clips instead of having to bounce entire MIDI tracks. I also really would love to see the return of Roland VSC, or similar GS-compatible MIDI wavetable synths as an upgrade to Cakewalk TTS. Actually TTS-1 is an upgrade from VSC. Its a GM2 synth as well.

I hope this thread will turn into a free for all about what X1 really needs. Oh yeah, stability may get mentioned once or twice too. And.... I hope someone will tell us that what we have works, is an improvement over what we had (in the distant past) and what will come will be great. BTW, I want folders in folders, colored markers (or colored time line), full color customization and solo to work on multi-out drums when a drum map is used.

What I really would like to see, is the ability to bounce a MIDI clip, or a selection of MIDI notes into audio clips instead of having to bounce entire MIDI tracks. You can do this today. Every version of SONAR has supported this. You can select a range of clips or even individual notes and use bounce to tracks to render the result to a new clip in a new track. If you are not using an instrument track, additionally make sure that you select the associated synth track (an easy way is to solo the midi track and SONAR will automatically smart solo the related synth tracks) Obviously the target bounced clip will have to reside on an audio track for it to be heard.

I think Dropzone works out just fine for many uses. I get sad that you can't automate loop start/end points though.

Why not just use the "freeze" button?

The Roland VSC is definitively inferior to TTS , so revise your comment... Also there are ways to just render certain portions of MIDI clips and notes, 1 for example :clone the track then freeze and then isolate the desire cilps, but yeah I know its not like a ¨render MIDI clip to Audio¨function..

TTS-1 does have its high points, but the VSC does have some sounds that I missed having, as well as the GS implementation.
