this one is truly one of a kind.
i commissioned a fine luthier to build this to spec, back in '86.
still going strong.

Nice. What kind of bridge is that?

Maybe it bears mentioning that I'm actually fond of the color pink?

I like that RG partly because of the ridiculous neon yellow finish.

But black is classy, so I wouldn't knock a black finish.

never meant to say 'i built the guitar', if that's what you took away from it, i screwed up.

I think it's simply how we define "built" or "build" differently. I would have used "assembled".
Of course I'm at fault too....I don't agree with them using machines to carve the bodies and
necks and making the claim they "build" ..but where one draws the line doesn't make them
correct.

I sure agree with you now that I understand you. There are many options for one to acquire
a very nice guitar without spending a great deal of money-comparably speaking.

It brings up a thought that I've had many times when I read others that believe the Mexican made
Fenders are inferior. Well yes, but why?-  One should consider that Fender sends
cheaper hardware to them to build with.
It's not so much about craftsmanship IMO and the truth to be known I've seen Mexican made
Fenders with a much better finish than on an American Deluxe. Fender has them building a "cheaper" model for the market.
One could replace the hardware on a used, cheap Mexican Fender -replace the nut and do a set-up and have a great guitar...just an example.

Yes, it's not truly "hand-made" unless you rip the tree down with your bare hands.

Yes and you wouldn't be laughing when the Feds put you and the tree in their warehouse
stored with all of Gibsons' wood!

Where's craigb??
He's picking splinters out his butt in a Federal warehouse and selling Gibson wood out the
back door!   ( now there's an idea)
