I just got the wife an Ipad. I thought it would help her with work related stuff. Intstead, she sits next to me at night on the couch, making faces at the thing while goofing around with Photobooth. It's an app that distorts your face into all sorts of strange shapes. She will literally sit there doing this with tears running down her face. She takes these pictures of these faces and emails them to our daughter. Then they Skype and laugh at them together. That laughter is worth twice what I paid for the thing.

That's cool. My dad is pretty much the same thing. I get all kinds of strange e-mails since he got his iPad with stuff he finds here and there.
 
But that's a beautiful story Randy. Technology is in so many ways taking away our will and abillity to be social with the people around us. It's easy to forget that it actually can bring people that matter closer when they are far away.

Ok, the scenario is: I get holliday pay, I'm heading to New York next week, I've been looking at a new very portable lap top like Macbook Air or Asus zenbook for surfing, e-mail and writing, I realized that a tablet covers what I need, I like the iPad, they are just over US$200 cheaper in the US... I have an iPhone and I am VERY satisfied with it and have many apps... Question: Do I really need an iPad? But more importantly, shoudl I buy one?


My friends with Iphones love their Ipads... I'm just saying...

Yeah, that seem to be the trend Craig. I really like the iPad too, just haven't had a reason to get one

Btw, anyone heard of the new 48-track recording app they are making for it?

Auria is obviously in beta as a Reaper user just posted a couple of tracks. Time will tell.

Yeah, that's the one. I would imagine that it's a brutal undertaking making 48 tracks play back simultaneously on the iPad effectively, and that's why it's missed its own release. However, the potential is the cool part
