When Daryl's right--Daryl's right.  Bigger, fuller, in-yer-face orgasm is good.

The new version sounds even better.  The vocal sounds better, too.  Maybe it's just sitting better in the mix.  I agree with Bob, you do sing better than Dylan.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

Hey Bapu, ok you've taken on an iconic song, so I give you kudo's.

The mix on this is actually not too bad.

I think you have been criticized a bit about the vocal, now I can hear what they say but it can be fixed, for one the track is too high or in the wrong key for your vocal range.  I would have chucked the master with no vocal into Reaper and lowered the track until you felt comfortable when you sang.  Then returned the vocal to the original key and exported it back into Sonar.

The other problem is the song is suppose to be spat out, you know with a bit of venom and bite.

But you are The Bapu, so nice and keep it coming.

Peace Ben

I think this works pretty good now.

WRT your question. I want to hear the bass a bit more Ed. Not so much in amplitude but in breadth. Does that make sense?

You know... you voice is not half bad... there are some really cool moments that capitalize on your natural character and I would welcome hearing you explore that more.

I go on vacation and bapu gets busy!

I think I agree with Shad's last comment here, I'd like to hear the bass better, that's your trademark and it's almost buried by the TTS-1 guitar.  knock that TTS-1 guitar back and bring the bass up.

love the lyrics!

I think this is the best I've heard you've done when it comes to the mix. the song, of course, is great! I really like the sound of the drums. It sounds big. I wouldn't mind a little more push on the vocals but it works really well this way too. Great job!

I'm not sure if it's just my ol office laptop (Celeron, XP) boat anchor but I can't listen to stuff on soundcloud anymore with it.  Nothing but Rice Krispies (snap, crackle & pops) as well as stutters.  Dern!

Did hear enough to know this is true fun and well done.

Which means your heard the intro; just before the singing came in, right?

Nice job Bapu.  I think you did a good job not being a singer and all.
The production and mix sounded very good, very wide.
The real question is...did you need your lyric sheet or could you remember all these lyrics???

I think we both struggle with the vocal in a song more than anything else so I understand the efforts and struggles involved with this kind of thing. You did pretty well and seem to be getting better with time and work.
I'm guessing you used a decent pre amp to get the vocals recorded. The mix was consistent in dynamics. You were on pitch and on key and that's a lot more than a lot of folks can do. You may have used melodyne but no harm in that.

The variax worked well for those parts. The bass was good and the drums and organ shined well here. Another classic CH recording here!

@Tim - Thanks for the positive feedback. Yeah I used an AEA R-84 Ribbon Mic into my Grace M101 Preamp into my RME FireFace UFX, so I'd say I have a pretty good chain there. And yes I do (a necessity) use Melodyne. Mostly for my drift, but an occasional note needs to be fixed too

@CLEAN - Fun is what is iall about on these covers for me. Nothing too serious (except the the Production).

@Grant - You're welcome and thank you too.
