I hate to say it, but it is unlikely CW will incorporate ARA into SONAR. I am certain that there are licensing fees involved. After all, that is the reason why the Bakers haven't incorporated an MP3 converter into SONAR after all this time. Give it some thought.

Your reverse psychology might just work on them Bakers*

bluzdog.

I would never do anything to a file in my project's audio folder. Too dangerous IMO.

If I use stand alone, I export a track, work in Melodyne and import.

However, since 2.1 I have not had to do that, but I've adopted the habit of breaking my tasks into smaller chunks and edit/bounce/replace one chunk at a time. Saving my project after each Melodyne step.

Bapu, did you use Melodyne on your latest track, My Pal Mooch? Is there anywhere I can listen to it?

I use Melodyne Editor and iZotope RX standalone versions by passing the audio to them via SONAR's options menu as per Sound Forge etc. it's a great way to get around. Alternatively if I know in advance that I need pitch correction tools then I'll start that work in Studio One 2 because Of the great Melodyne integration afforded by ARA.

I am highly in favor of this.  It would make an X2 upgrade automatic for me if it contained ARA support.

How does one get Izotope RX into Sonar's Tools menu?

As far as I know...the SDK for Steinberg's VST is free.  (Someone (who knows) please correct me if this is not the case.)  It is very much in Celemony's interest to offer the SDK at little or no cost...otherwise, they are frustrating their own attempts to get their interface adopted as a standard that others will hang their hats on.

The bit with the MP3 converter is a different business model.  The vendor that's licensing the converter isn't trying to establish MP3 as a standard.  It already is.  They are charging for their implentation of an algorithm that follows the MP3 spec.

Why don't you put it on your YouTube channel and talk Cakewalk into buying the "Skip Ad"?

Yes - I like it.

Also, don't forget the 'rules' of the song forum.

1)    Use your thank you posts sparingly; wait until your song thread has slipped down the forum a bit and thank each poster with their own individual post - don't combine them. This is also a great way to increase your post count.

2)    Change the thread title regularly to fool people into thinking they haven't seen it yet.

3)    As a last resort, when the interest for the song has really died, remix it and repost.

Follow these steps and you will have a hit on your hands

Daryl, I don't subscribe to you rule #1. If it drops past position 12 on page one I just bump that bad boy. In the case of My Pal Mooch I can always pick a fight with pistolpete each time the song slips. That will raise the rancor level.

That works too. Pissedoff Pete is always a good excuse for a bump
