So is this going to be DAW 3.0? Or DAW 2.1?

It could be DAW .5 but you'll have to wait and find out. I'm feeling a bit of deja vu right now. Seems like the focus is on bright shiny things and I'm guessing an end to the splintered product line. I wish they hadn't announced it until the week before it hit the shelf. A few months of unbridled speculation will be tedious at best.

Tedious is what we do best. Well, our best is somewhat mediocre. So, Mediocre Tediousness is what we do some of the time. Granted, the last time we reached that level was in 2009 and it was largely by accident. More often, our best may appear more like abject humiliation. We aspire to Tedium, however.

Nice that the Console emulation is a Pro Channel Module too... We'll see how it stacks up next to VCC and NLS...

musicman100 bapu Brilliant marketing by the Bakers. <long pause while JB cracks up yet again> In the X2 email, they say "Seemless". I wonder how many of the adolts upstairs will say, "hey you said Gapless Engine" with they install it and it crashes when you try to edit a clip while the song is playing or recording? I seem to recall rather heated, pointed, arguments with name calling regarding the "seamless no gap" issue I recall all kinds of heated arguments when X1 came out..some with 10Ten even....

One of the Bakers clarified that it DOES NOT ship at the end of August, that is just the full announcement.
