Congrats Bapu!! You know, for the first time in my life, I managed to gain a few lbs. Quit smoking, turned 40 - so I guess my metabolism probably slowed down a bit more this time than when I quit the time before. Plus, we've arrived here in NY where there's just so many amazing restaurants... One of the biggest culprit I think is that we eat at hectic hours. My wife finishes working at 10 pm, so we often have dinner at around 11. It's basically the worst thing - I barely eat all day because I'm working on music and don't want to waste time cooking or going to the grocery, then have a decent meal a few hours before going to bed. No matter how healthy that meal is, I have zero chances of burning it off before bedtime. Looks like I may have to join the CH diet club. We do have the training facilities here in the building, but I just hate sweating in team w/ a bunch of strangers. So I'll figure something else.

Hi, Major gratz Ed ... that is very nice. I'm having a hard time myself ... 01/01/2011 -- 303Lbs. 01/02/2012 -- 248Lbs. 08/01/2012 -- 260Lbs. It's been a rough road and I'm trying to get to around 220/230, which was about 10lbs more than my tennis playing weight in those days. Those days kinda died after 3 right eye surgeries in the last 10 years. The exercise thing is rough, because the "pounding" of a treadmill or running is not something I am supposed to do so the retina does not fall again, though the doctor specifically told me that playing competitive tennis were probably over because it would take at least 10 years to train the eyes to see double ... like they do now! So ... yeah ... at 6ft, if I get back to 220, I will be really happy ... 230 would be awesome as it is ... but it's been really hard as the diet/exrcise program that dropped 50 lbs is no longer efficient, or capable of dropping another 30 or 40! Meaning ... a little more effort! And sadly ... less Beacan!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

bapu As of today I have lost a total of 16.5lbs. I started at 237.5 and I Am 221 today. The reasonable goal is 220 by the time Mooch's wedding rolls around (7 days away..... YIKES!!!!). For the record I Am 6'1" tall. Seven years ago today I consistently weighed 210. That was down from 250. I hope I do not discover pizza again. 221 Today!!!!

Congrats Ed... keep up the good work.... the more weight comes off, the better you start to feel. After you get the weight down and are exercising, then kick the cigs. I have always been around 155 lbs or so in my adult life. I got up to 165 once and when I realized that, I backed right off. I work out several times a week with this: http://www.bayoufitness.c...tem-with-19-levels-176 kinda like the thing Chuck Norris and Christy B advertise but so much cheaper, and it does the very same things. I also work out with a heavy bag and do some assorted cardio.... eat right and exercise.... Keep on working it.

Wheather or not I go to that link doesn't make you a better singer no matter who is singing on that link ...you still no to good at singing even then .... The way I see it is you need The Lord to perform a miracle to make you sing better ...not shameless plugs of other people singing .... Ok ...congrats on the weight loss....if you sing you'll probably gain it back so keep eating healthy and NO SINGING

Congrats and keep up the good work! I recently lost about 20 lbs by getting into weightlifting in the last year. Now I'm looking at starting to do more bodyweight workouts on the road. My current goal is to do a handstand!

Diet update: Life stress, inability to exercise outside since June (first alergies and then too hot) plus too many "quick" meals of fast food means I've rediscovered 14 pounds that I had lost. I tried one of those fad gimmicks that purport to target your tummy and it worked! I went from a 41" belly to a 45" belly in one month without changing my diet or exercise regime. *Sigh...* Go Bapu go!
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
