MakeShift Paul was a slave driver in the end. I am glad he was though. I’m not sure that the group would have actually finished the last 3 albums if he had not pushed them to record the songs. John kind of check out somewhere after Sgt Pepper. This sums it up pretty good makeshift. May I add that when Brian Epstein died and they decided to keep going John in hind site said he was nervous about it. John stated that he knew dang well the Beaters were good at making music but knew nothing about the buisness aspect. He knew he didn't want to do another sgt peppers album he wanted to do more rock. He was using drugs and Geoff emmick said that in one of the many takes of Ob La Di ... John showed up stoned and announced he was more f ing stones than you'll every be ....to everyone And then played the piano the ....right feel of the song .. Which is the style they used Anyway yeah .... John has said as much...that...Paul kept it going ...John was never necessarily thrilled about mentioning that ... And kind of just refers to Paul as being a pain in the arse in that time period

There's the Decca audition. And the album they did w/ Tony Sheridan, which features a Lennon/Harrison instrumental and Lennon singing Ain't She Sweet. Live in Hamburg at the Star Club gives you an idea of what the Beatles were all about back then. Lennon started playing w/ McCartney when he was 16, in a pre-Beatles outfit called the Quarrymen IIRC. But I don't think there's any material form that period.

George was a school buddy of John's and introduced McCartney to John. Paul showed John a bunch of chords that he did n't know and generally impressed him so much on the first meeting, that John knew he had to have him in the Quarrymen. He just did n't want to admit it for a couple of days. John knew that he had met his equal. They began writing songs together almost immediately. Edit: Oops, going to much from memory. A mutual school friend named Ivan introduced the two. Paul later introduced George to John.

bapu Mooch, Jonbouy lives in very close proximty to Sir Paul's studio in the Sunny Southern Coast of the UK (I've seen it). You should have asked him to stand up @ your wedding. Jonbouy's entourage usually includes Sir Paul. Yeah, yeah, yeah Mooch. Sir Paul acknowledged my Mrs in the nearby church fairly recently by giving her a nod. I think he's sold the studio now though. Although here's some pics, it can be seen clearly from my place. http://www.roughwood.net/PhotoAlbum/2005%20Album/IckleshamWindmill2005.htm But Sir Paul and I are near neighbours. He's never heard of Mooch so I have one over on him.

In the 60s, it was Paul. These days I think John really made a bigger difference than any of them because of his GREAT voice. Paul had a great voice to and was a better songwriter but John had a once in a lifetime voice. I think John was on track to become a deeper thinker than any of them when he was killed. Paul has just lost me on some things. George always seemed a bit off kilter to me and I never liked the way he looked (not that looks should matter)... Ringo is magic in most every way. He has always been funny, has always kept a low profile, always done his job and done it well.. and he has always been funny. I know he ent straight to NYC when John was killed to console Yoko. As a person: Ringo. Songwriter: Paul (Yesterday: acoustic guitar and vocal... can you imagine when he came into the studio and performed that song the first time?) . Singer/whole package: John. Though I absolutely HATE the song Imagine... go figure. J

Wow, I suggested that Yoko needed to be Autotuned on the Bob Dylan re-write called don’t frack your mother (or something like that) and the Yoko supporters were out in force. The serious answer to your question is John . “Love” of off the John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band album was my wedding song 21 years ago and Well, Well, Well (not the Duffy song) off of the same album has always been an all-time favorite song.
