wait - what's the difference between "vegas" and "vegas + DVD"?

do you mean DVD Architect?  if so, yes, I have that as well.  it came with my copy of vegas, actually.

When I stopped updating Reece they named with a "+"  to include DVD Architect...apparently
now they don't.

I need to upgrade mine. Looks like they've made many good changes since 8.
oh, ok.  I just bought mine a couple of months ago and it didn't say + DVD but that's what I got and didn't even realize I was getting it.

I think I got mine from amazon, but I don't remember now exactly.
EDIT :  i remember now, I got it from NEWEGG when I purchased a hard drive at the same time and it came cheap as a bundle package.  it was probably OEM or something, but it didn't say that on the package and it installs on any system just like any other would.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832135309

it says no longer available, but it also says $30 - I paid more than that, but I'm thinking it was like $60.

Well Ed....I tried....
Only one more suggestion....

Keep on clippin ol Moochy for that 7 and stash 'em.
Push it to 8 and tell him Jon heard...
and there's a min purchase plan at one per day.
By the time we get X2 under the belt you'll be ready and primed. :)

I hate to screw up my reputation with actual help, but here's how you do it using FREE, Microsoft software that used to come with windows.  Find out how to get it HERE.   Then use it to rotate your video 90 degrees.

I had to do this with one of the videos for our website.

Forgot to mention that this fixed the video.  I then brought it into SoundForge to add and sync up the audio (created in SONAR of course!).

Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Windows Live Movie Maker does have an "Add Music" option but SoundForge might be easier to use.

Ed,
I should clarify...
You're link was to Vegas 4.0 + DVD...for $89.00.
I have it but it's been so long I don't remember
any of the particulars and there releases are not
different than Sonars....always bugs.

I can say that for that price I'd jump if I didn't have anything.
It's just good stuff. I wouldn't think there would be any problem
to updating any fixes they made.

Man it's easy to spend somebody elses money....but think...you'll
only have to clip Mooch about 10-12 more times!

this is the old version (12 is out) but it does come with DVD architecht and it's VERY cheap!  it's the same version I have.

I have Sony Vegas Pro 10.  And I love it.  But for this.... Yeah, Windows Movie Maker.

Vegas WILL flip it (and stretch it and fly it about on the screen with great fades and effects, etc...) but you have to know how, and it's fiddly.  For what you are doing, Ed, and for little to no learning curve, Movie Maker.

Same for making a slide show. Totally possible and professional on Vegas... Much easier and completely acceptable on Movie Maker.  Otherwise, I'm firmly in the Vegas Camp.

Yup. Movie Maker (for Win 7) done did it.

If I gets to making "real" vids I'll keep the $600 solution in mind.

Your video wasn't real?
You should have just kept tilting your head...others would
have imagined they should do the same.
Now you've gone from cheap to free.

Excellent....I thought you were going to
say they weren't for sell....and I'll have to imagine
the video link...can't watch movies at work. Vegas
probably could have fixed that muddy part.

Ya.  I only had a $0.01 budget for video software to flip my video (and I still managed to come in under budget!).
