Hi Freddie,

Hey, go up to my post #25 and that might help you to get the stereo vectorscope to work correctly in Sonar.

Also, How did you find out that insight does not use the GPU or Cuda cores and uses CPU only? I ask because I was thinking of getting a different card with some more power to see if that was the problem.

I still have the crackle issue even after updating my graphics card drivers and it does not matter whether it is a CPU intensive project or just a single stereo audio track, if I have the Audio Level meters or Loudness history graph active, I get audio crackles.

Even running a midi/softsynth intensive project the Win 7 resource meter only reports 40% total CPU usage but the X2 performance module Redlines on the first core even without the project playing. I've never saw that before... It's weird because I thought the X2 performance module had more to do with the audio buffers vs. CPU usage.

Anyway, I'm awaiting to hear back from Izotope. It's times like this that make me thank full that Cake offers a support service where you can talk to a Real Person on the PHONE.

Kind regards,
Rick

Thanks for the help but I have already uninstalled it.
How? Just check the Win 7 resource meter of CPU meter (CTRL+ALT+Delete).

As soon you double click to show the GUI the CPU jumps +8-20% depending what is shown in the GUI. If you resize it to 1920x1080 to get even more sometimes. As soon you close the "Insight" GUI the CPU drop -8-20%.

I use ASUS NVIDIA 640GT 2GB RAM so I use pretty good videocard. I can recommend it if you going to upgrade. Silent and you can use up to 4x-screens on one card! 3x in HDMI.

Thank you for your help Freddie,

That appears to be a very nice graphics card but I found out today that my card was not my problem. Izotope provided me with a new build to try and it has worked out nicely so far. It gives you an option to set Insight to the same buffer size that your audio device is set at.

I was able to set it down to 128 and still run a fairly heavy project without any crackling. I usually track at 64 and that is what I was set at while trying Insight. I could still run Insight at the 64 buffer setting but there is an occasional pop or crack. (not really sure why I would want to run Insight while tracking...)

I don't see the new build on the Izotope site yet but I would guess that an update will be available soon.

Kind regards,
Rick
