Thanks Space
I appreciate all the info

Yeh I wasnt sure if keeping the sleep mode off was an option prior to even getting Windows installed or not.  I do leave it to Off Mode when Im up and running as set in Windows.

I like to have it set to where it doesnt do anything unless I tell it to LOL

That was going to be another question as to how Acronis compares to what Windows does for backups.  BestBuy has Acronis for like $40-$60 but if I can do the exact same thing with Windows Backup or Dell Data Safe Backup, why spend the money huh?

Thanks again

MIKE

Acronis is what most of the Techie's I know use.  There is Macrium backup, both a freeware and paid version, but the Acronis seems to be the choice of the tech's I know.  I also recommend it to my clients and most are using it.

Windows backup only backups up certain data not the complete hard drive image.  The Dell datasafe is a limited user data backup and not to a separate media.  You don't want to backup data to a partition on the same hard drive - if (when) the hard drive fails any backedup data is lost.

Ahhhh I see

So when I have finally reinstalled Sonar, MAudio, Line6, etc...  All the things I use as a minimum-It will keep everything together versus Windows or Dell only keeping certain things?

That is worth the 60 or so bucks compared to all Ive been through

Well I installed the extra HD for storage and installed Seagates software for it to automatically set it up as "Additional Storage"

The program reformatted the OS drive and wiped out the Master Boot Record-Wonderful, Back to square 1 with the monitors sleeping and trying to get this dell up and running again LOL

Ive found some good vids on youtube on fixing the MBR errors, now just need the time to make it HOPEFULLY happen.

Ill keep ya posted to how it goes-UGHHHH
