Cool. Gonna have to see if I can get Pyro. Not sure why that didn't come with the Suite.

Awesome. Pyro is still on for $20.

Seriously though that should be built into Producer.

Have you got a link for that Beep? I find trawling round the store to find anything almost impossible.

I think the store in general is getting nailed. It took quite a while just to get the main specials list to load.

As far as I can tell it does all the stuff I used to do with Wavelab minus the actual high end audio mastering part (which I do with Sonar anyway). I was quite surprised to learn I could not create proper tags and stuff with Sonar. It also sounds like a better option than Media Player to handle my music library. Seriously WMP really bites these days.

I would look into freeware to do the same kind of stuff...there are some excellent tagging apps out there like ID3-TagIT or MP3Tag. You can probably get the rest of the functionality in freeware too. Although it may well be worth the $20 just to have everything integrated in one handy app.

I'm trying to look into it but Cakewalk's site seems so slow and funky today. I'm looking at some expansion packs and it takes about a minute to load each page, with some not loading at all. For me this $20 is going to be a toss up between Pyro (if I can get some decent info) or some new sounds for Z3TA.

Yeah... I figure I'm probably much safer using a Cake product than random freeware. Trying to keep the DAW as clean of weird stuff as possible. Been wanting to snag it for a while.

Actually this will give me an excuse to fire up the rig and download some of the other stuff that's backlogged in my account like the updates and expansion packs. Just haven't had time.

BTW it seems this $20 credit might expire at the end of the month. Don't quote me on that but that definitely seems to be how the email was worded.

    Cheers.

Guess I'm a little more reckless with my machine...don't really mind the freeware, as long as it has widespread acclaim and good reviews. I think I used ID3-TagIT a couple of years ago. I sat down and tackled my entire MP3 collection...changed every file name so that it was of a standardized format ("Artist - Title") and then set the tagging app to extract the tags from the file names according to that format. There is also an excellent app which goes through your entire collection and retrieves all the tag info from the internet, including genre, album, year of release and all that jazz. However it's about $40 and there was no way I was going to spend that much when quite frankly I can get by with just artist/title.

See I don't like software doing that kind of crap which is what WMP and most others do. WinAmp was a great little program. Essentially I think with Pyro I've got the features I want from WinAmp's library, Wavelabs tagging/CD architect capabilities (I think it's redbook level tagging... not sure though), Nero's burning functions and it's all Cakewalk so it shouldn't bork up anything on my system.

It also seems to have some recording capabilities too so it might be good for when I want to digitize my tape collection and stuff instead of dinking around in Sonar if I don't intend to do any remastering.

Like I said though... I was quite surprised I couldn't use Sonar for proper tagging especially considering I bought the Suite but whatever. I essentially got it for free because of this bonus.

Already downloaded it. Now I'm going through the rest of the free stuff in my account.

And thanks for the heads up, scook. I probably would have seen it at some point before the deadline but perhaps not. According to my store account it was indeed a time sensitive offer so don't drag your feet fella's.

    Cheers.
