MixControlPro is discontinued? (I remember them having a sale last year when it first came out and was going for $75 (I think)) "MixControl Pro is now discontinued. Returning customers can still purchase a license for a nominal fee through the customer area, which will grant them a FREE upgrade to V2, when it is available.."

I have had DNR for some time now and use this on nearly everything I do - its quick, easy and sounds good. The best bits are the EQ, in which you can solo bands (great idea), the gate is good and the compressor has good options. The saturation is handy, I don't use or like the limiter. I have just looked at the Sample Repository, Producer Upgrade - 10 gb of sounds, which is on offer to existing owners for $9!!! There are some Alchemy packs in there, so that's got to be worth $9 - shall obviously be downloading overnight!! Nigel

I bought it last year and find it a good "all in one" type channel strip, gate, eq, limiter.....all in one. I use it from time to time and find it easy to use and it has it all in one place. However, so does our ProChannell now; so with the prochannell doing much more in one place, I use less and less of the MixControl Pro. Still, MCP is good at what it does --a no brainer for the $29. I have been waiting for the v2 upgrade which has been promised for some time. I just sent them an email asking if v2 is out yet. Several of us purchased last year, and we were suppose to get the v2 free when it was released.

Here is the thread from last year: http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2394543 BTW, I emailed the company yesterday and asked if v2 is out yet, but they have not yet replied. Hope this new nobrainer sale means that v2 is near; it was predicted for Q4 of 2012.

I still dig it quite a lot and use it regularly. Though I somehow feel bad because I was so vocal about it... I do think that it is a great plug-in as is, but they were supposed to be coming out w/ version 2 at the end of 2012 and failed to meet their deadline. Personally, I like it so much as is that I'm crossing my fingers that they don't change it too much for version 2. That being said, they announced something and didn't stick to it. Not good. I would have expected at least an e-mail or something, some kind of follow up. None of that either. There was a lot of confusion around the discontinuation of the product, and they didn't handle that very well. I've written to them and didn't get an answer either. Bad. Paying consumers shouldn't have to hunt down information and end up reading a 20 pages thread on KVR. I don't feel comfortable w/ what I see as a total lack of professionalism either, and the little piracy rant they recently posted on their web site - thought I do perfectly understand the frustration towards piracy - kind of put me off. Maybe I'm uptight, but anyway. .. All in all, great software, but the people behind it don't seem totally up to the task. They come across as a bunch of kids who've just inherited their father's company but have no clue of how to run a business. In my book, being a one man operation or a one man company is no excuse. There are plenty of little developers offering A+ support out there. That's what separates them from amateurs. I do feel responsible for bragging about their plug here.

@Rain You are responsible for bragging about their plug and I want to say Thank You! I probably would have not purchased the plug without your recommendation. I have found it to be very useful and a great bang for the buck. I purchased it for what it was, not because of the free upgrade to Ver.2. You make some logical points above but honestly, I still feel fortunate to have received this plug for such a small expenditure. I have spent much more for less... I'm also in the camp of hoping they don't change it too much if/when ver. 2 is released as I like it as is. Kind regards, Rick

Don't know if it has anything to do w/ the fact that they didn't meet their deadlines, but one of the developers passed away yesterday, after spending some time in the hospital. http://www.kvraudio.com/f...torder=asc&start=0 R.I.P.

33 is very young. Whenever I spoke to this guy, and I believe reason and I had a few PMs before they banned me from KVR, I had gotten the picture he was much later in life. He always sounded, "very old." I imagine the drugs wrecked his mind, body and soul. So he aged or something. Its always a very sad story. I'll pray for him, and his family. He's definitely gone to an easier, nicer place. RIP

Yes - I would have to agree. I hesitated in buying this deal for fear of said 'virus', and almost missed out on it, when all the while no virus happened at all to me and obviously others, and may be local to your rig and your rig only - if that. Appreciate the warning, but not if it costs us something all for what turns out to be nothing.

Thanks for killing the messenger Cliff! Freddie, I'm not killing the messenger ... read my reply again. I'm asking the messenger to "Deliver a COMPLETE message", not a half message that can't be verified. And you STILL Haven't done that. All you've done is a little bit more of that again, it is useless by itself, and without you providing ALL the information. Freddie, it would be helpful ONLY if you provide the COMPLETE information, as I stated above, yet you haven't done. The three CRITICAL pieces of information you need to provide, if you are going to make accusations about websites infecting with viruses are: 1) What virus ?. 2) What webpage ?. 3) How did you detect it ?. If you don't provide ALL three pieces of information, nobody can verify whether or not you are correct. You could be using some crap detection method and have a false alert !. Can you please, provide the complete information as I asked, because at this point you've just made the picture look more worse, and from where I'm sitting it looks like you have no idea what you're talking about. Why do I say that ?. Well, you didn't answer all the critical questions, and now you're saying they have 3 viruses, but you only name one. So let's try again: 1) What viruses ? You named the Trojan, but what are the other two you mention ? 2) Which web page, or is it the entire site ?. And the very important question of: 3) How did you detect it ?. So what software did you use etc ... what is your detection method. You know, there's a lot of crap software that give false alerts, and to make it worse, lots of crap software that doesn't alert when it should. You need to tell us HOW you detected / got the report that there is/are viruses on a web page. Otherwise, nobody can either verify your findings, explain them, or explain if it is a false alert. Can you come up with all the information ?. I used several online services to scan the website, and they all say "Clean Site" For example: https://www.virustotal.com/#url If you're saying there is still a virus on their site, how did you detect it, and what are the other 2 you say thay have ? Thanks - Cliff

There may have been something wrong with the website when Freddie H first posted his warning. There has been something wrong with Oracle's Java Applet for about 48 hours, and its been fixed now. There are several issues with teamdnr as a company.

It ain't the virus you detect, it is the one you don't. I just had all kinds of problems w/ a virus (tho I don't know where it came from). However, during a restore last week my power dimmed and crashed my drive - this is for the home internet computer. The dim also tripped the internet off. Talk about mass confusion. Anyway, I'm back on my old music computer - Vista. What a cock up the whole thing is. If I could find the spammer from Serbia who got me I'd git him, the Texas way. Now I remember why I never upgrade Java - I prefer not to have it on my machine. Blame Oracle if you want to blame somebody. @

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
