Many would say today that prog is dead, and it died when people started repeating themselves...repeating themselves...repeating themselves. Let the hip-hop crowd see how closely they can mimic one another; regurgitating other people's licks ain't what prog is about.

Prog lives on, in different sub-genres. I've never been a fan of prog rock, w/ a few exceptions, but I can appreciate the influence it had on bands I dig, like Tool...

I love Dream Theater in particular and progressive metal in general. Symphony X also rocks.

I was involved with Yes at this point in their career.  I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.  I didn't know Rick's comment had made it to Wikipedia.  Now, that is fame.

What did you do with Yes?  I worshiped that band!

Did you know Tony's keyboards weren't always plugged in?

Sounds like the line in the commentary track of This is Spinal Tap:

[shot of keyboard player playing and singing]

Nigel?: Did Vivian know his mic wasn't plugged in?

David?: The answer to any question starting with "Did Vivian ever know"  is probably no.
