Music Creator and Windows 8?
So I'm getting a Windows 8 computer tomorrow (arggg, not my choice, but that's another story). Is Creator 6 going to be compatible? I see no mention of it anywhere, which makes me nervous.

It will probably work OK.... let us know how it goes and if you have issues let us know that too.... we may be able to help sort it out.

Didn't have to worry about it after all. I'm replacing a broken computer (most likely was the power supply that killed everything else, the motherboard got replaced twice and things still didn't fully start up). Put the old hard drive (with Windows 7) into the new computer, switched bios from UEFI to legacy, and my old hard drive is alive again, with Music Creator still there and in working order. Thanks for the info though. It seems it's hard to find what runs on Windows 8 right now, hopefully it's something I can stay away from having to worry about for a while.

Help with Music Creator 6 please. I have Windows 8 Medion computer. When going into the Browser and selecting audio/loops to audition them or insert them into tracks. Only some will play. The list from the beginning to conga-Titnup-115.Rx2 work find but from cowbell-calypsoul-115.Rx2 to the end of the list will not play. When you click on them to hear them play they dont and when double clicking on them an error box comes up saying the following:- "Direct show error (ox80040265) cannot play back the file. The format is not supported". What the hell does that mean. Why do some play and others dont. the strange thing is they are playing on my windows 8 laptop.? Sandra

Hi guitar hacker I fixed my problem with un playable loops and one shots. I went into my downloads folder found three files:- Loops and oneshots folders part 1,2 and 3 so I thought what the hell, I clicked on them and reinstalled them. And guess what, it worked. They are all playing again. Hope this helps someone else. sandra

It is probably not going to help anybody on this forum, those files are not part of MC, they are part of the SONAR X series starting with X2. Posting issues with SONAR here is not the best idea. The SONAR X series forum is here.

Yep, that would splain why I couldn't find them on my DAW..... I have MC6 and X1e but not X2 or later.... It's generally not a big issue if people ask Sonar questions here as long as they identify their DAW version..... most folks here, while we all started with MC and still have at least one if not more active MC versions on our machines, have migrated to the Sonar series at some level or another. The common mistake here is that we assume, since this is the MC forum that questions asked here apply to the latest version of MC unless otherwise stated..... so......
