Hi Robby,

Another awesome job on the lead and harmony vocals, arrangement, production, etc, etc...

I'm not gonna get dragged into a 'which version is better' argument because I'm pretty sure it's not a competition...I could be wrong, though

Please bear in mind that the two versions are NOT a competition.
Ed 2-9-2013

Again, as Ed said, "It is NOT a competition!"
Robby 2-11-2013

As I said in my Coffee House Collaborators "We Drift Apart" thread, this was not a competition
Ed 2-17-2013

And again, this is not a competition
Ed 2-19-2013

Excellent work by both you and Ed! Even if it's NOT a competition.

The above competitors are too competitive not to compete, if indeed this is not a competition…

I cannot even compete with a statement like that.

Thanks to everyone who's commented, I thanked several individually, but I really appreciate everyone's comments as do we all. Working on a few new projects now? However, I was honored that Ed and Gary let me contribute on this one. I really enjoyed Gary's original, and Ed's ideas were excellent as well! I hope I didn't piss him off too badly with my tantrums over the production. I've worked with him several times in the past, and hope to have the privilege of doing so again in the future. They are both excellent writers, musicians, and producers.

I know for a fact that I am a troubled artist... And can be controversial, and I can present a challenge? Not a bad person, but I know I can be challenging. It's a combination of several issues/demons I wrestle with? So I thank those who put up with me sincerely... Again, it was a high honor to be involved in these projects, so thank you Gary and Ed, much respect.

(P.S., IT WAS A COMPETITION! LOL! just kidding :-) See? I'm difficult.

Nice slow melody with a smooth vocal over the top and some good playing.

Not sure about the competition or who is competing or who won but this is a nice country tune.

Hey Robby,
Haven't heard the original so my basis of comparison is "", but, fantastic job.  To me, this is the original.

The vox and guitar work were great as was the overall mix.
    Thanks for sharing.

Best,

Really loved this Robby. I'm still baffled as to why I don't hear your songs when turning on the radio?

Thanks Mark :-) I think it's my level of controversy? I'm either too controversal, or not controversal enough? I can never seem to hit the controversy sweet spot.

Very nice production on this one all the way around. Everything fits together very nicely and the results are very well rounded and a great performance by all. Very nicely done, my congradulations to all involved.

Peace and blessings, John

Late to the party again..... wow.... I recall the first one..... I like this one too. ( just restarted it)  This is a cool version....

I like the song.... good writing.

This might be early Eagles..... back from the Desparado days....

just my observations: I'd bump the bass a bit and back the BGV down a bit. They sound good but I think they're a bit to heavy. Especially when they come back from the steel solo.

I'm a fool for a sad country steel and this has it.....

nice

Gary wrote a great song, this was my take on it. Ed had some good ideas too, ahh bapu... May he rest in peace. I hope he is well. Ed did the mix, I just have the mp3. He's pretty good at the mix? Better than me and most, he's no Mr. no999 though ;-)
