Help BCF 2000
Just got one of these today and with following blades video, it's up and running in no time, however couple of things which may be due to Blades using Sonar producer 7 in the vids or that I'm on 64 bit win 7 and X2a. First off the E modes don't seem to work with Sonitus E.Q. and the BCF_View program just shows a pretty blue bar, even though Iv'e selected the BCF 2000 midi from right clicking the bar. It would be nice if these things worked but not the end of my world. Best Roy

Take a look at the guide I wrote for the BCF although that is also several years old now. The Mackie protocol won't work with the Prochannel but it should still control the SOnitus EQ if you are on Studio (I think - I don't know). Here's a couple of links. Anything MCU related should work with the BCF BCF guide Info on editing the Mackie surface ini file

There was a lot of forum help, but, sadly it never worked.

-FBB - nice tut on the BCF2000 - mine died and I have to replace it - I find that it's kinda indispensable for doing quick rough level stuff when you are ready to start mixing. One thing I could never get to happen is how th get the BCF2000 to do automation on the busses - I can't get it to move off of the individual tracks Any insights on this? I only use it for basic track automation (volume pans and mutes) and not plugin automation. That is too wacky for my brain. Thanks much

I got this because I could no longer use my Yamaha 01x once I went 64 bit, shame though it is cos I loved the 01x and was used to it. The bcf is nowhere as nice a build and the faders sound like Arkrights till opening but it gets the job done for a fraction of the price. Roy

Hello! I have been using 2 Bcf2000s and a bcr2000!! I have come up with a really nice way to control Sonar X2. Normaly in mackie mode, to solo a track you need to press shift and the mute button. I dont like that cos I dont have visual display of what tracks are solo on the bcf2000. you need to press shift to see it. So I came up with a nice way to have solo on one row and mute on the other. I have also made my own custom mackie mode with functions I like to use. like bypass effect bins, automation on or off, and many more with pressing their own assigned button on my bcr2000 and bcf2000. I have done some data mapping in midiox, and midi yoke so you need midi ox for it to work. Now.. how its done. open a midiox file.. put. input your bcf2000 output to midiyoke1 then you need to load the data map I have created. now in Sonar, go to control surfaces and select V studio 700 as a control ruface plugin. NOT mackie control. and select input from midiyoke1 and outout to your bcf2000. now you have a controller with seperate buttons for solo mute, and anything else you want to assign to button.. you can do that by using the v700 control plugin to assign functions or you can also have more to choose from for othe buttons from the midi note map I discovered. (like midi notes 8 - 15 are tracks 1 -8 solo e.t.c) I 2bcf2000s and a bcr2000. one bcf2000 in a v700 control surface plugin. the bcr2000 in another v700 plugin and the other bcf2000 connected via midi to the bcr2000. With a combination of an act plugin also connected to the bcr2000 I have A really nice controller that has anything I need!! from functions like insert tracks, insert busses, mute, solo, stop, play, rec, automation enable, bypass effects bins, input echo on off, track view, console view, open effects, (without using the mouse) close effects, and other stuff. If anyone is interested pm me!! I can send you the data mapping!! Cheers!!!!

EliasO, are you running 64-bit Windows and 64-bit X2 ?
I ask because midiox and midiyoke are 32-bit and didn't think they'd run on a 64-bit system.

I have a BCF2000 running on Sonar X2 in both Win 7 64 bit and Win 8 64 bit. However, I mainly use it for the motorized faders. I have no problems using it with audio level automation in tracks.

Hello!! I dont know about 64 bit. I am running win 7 32 bit. But If you could get midiox and midiyoke for win 64 bit then it should work. But its worth a try. There was a guy that made a pro channel version of Ah's plugin (if you know it) for the bcr2000. The plugin would follow mackie mode so if you selected a channel the bcr would jump to that channel and you could control the pro channel. That doesnt work on x2 though.. That would have been great. Cos Act doesnt follow the pro channel. for e.g if you have an efefct in channel 1 and an effect in channel 2, you could have a preset on ur bcr2000 for ACt. You select that track, and act focuses directly on the 1st plugin in the selected track. you press the assigned button to open the plugin and you can control it. then press close and close it. but it wont focus on the prochannel you have to click on the prochannel for it to focus.. But with that pluygin you could just select the track and control prochannel in a different preset on your bcr2000. I also noticed that when I updated to X2a, Act wouldnt focus on the effect bin now but it would focus on the prochannel. The opossite to x2 plain. But you could get used to that I guess.. i uninstalled x2a and now im in x2 cos of that. i like it. I will make some files, who ever wants the mappings and any help, pm me! :)

For most commands you dont need midiyoke.. I used midi yoke to fix a problem with the mute and solo buttons.. without midi yoke u need to press them twice.. find a pic of the vs700 online and zoom into it and see the commands.. they are all midi notes and I have found most of them!! ITS LIKE HAVING YOUR OWN V S 700 but with bcr2000 and a bcf2000.. I have 2 bcf2000s and a bcr2000 and I got a great controller!! You can try it right now.. withought the midiyoke and midiox you can still do it.. But the solo and mute buttons will need to be pressed twice for solo off on. remove the mackie mode control surface, put your bcf2000 in b1 or anything, and do this.. faders 1 - 8 set to Pb, ch 1 -8. for solo set one row of buttons 1 - 8 to notes 8 - 16 and value1 127 for mute its notes 16 - 22 try it.. with midi yoke i did some mapping and the solo mute buttons work normally. i also made fader touch select channel. and some other stuff.

oh!! try this also.. set a knob, (i use the upper right knob) on the bcr2000 to CC, channel 1, 60, 0 -127, rel 3 and you have a Jog wheel to go through your project!! :) all this is done buy using the v s700 control surface plugin. NOT the mackie control!! you dont need midiyoke for these. these are commands that the vs700 uses. you can create your own custom mode. you dont use the makie mode on the bcf2000 either.. you can set your knobs to be PAN by setting them to CC ch1 from 16 to 23 for track 1 to 8. 0 - 127, rel 3 note 70 channel 1, 127 is the SHIFT key. so set a button to do that and you have your shift. us shift and a solo button and you get the input echo on/off. there are many more commands.
