I have 2-3 songs in which I recorded someone playing V-drums. They are a stereo track. But I like 70% of what is played, but hate the drum sounds. Am I out of luck splitting up this stereo drum track? It makes sense individual tracks work great. Not sure if a stereo one would.

kurzman, I'd not even attempt that one. It can be done, but you're talking cutting up the track to the point of driving yourself insane with cuts and bleed all over that will just be too tedious to attempt in my opinion. You'd be cutting something up every second that went by in the clip. Uggh...I'd definitely stay away from that one. LOL!
Karl: lol....I thought Paulo meant you too, so I stayed away from that one. Hahaha! Paulo is a great guy...tells it like it is. If he don't like ya, he'll tell ya. I'm glad he's on my side though..he's a good ally to have! :) Everyone likes you man other than he who shall remain nameless. Just start your next vid with "Bond, James...shaken not stirred." for me. LOL! :)

Isolating the HH from the OH's turned out to be easy. I placed R-Mix in the effects bin of one of the OH's-> isolated just the highs from the HH -> placed a comp after the R-Mix to bring the level back up -> bounced to track and ended up with a stereo file -> used the Danny's method to create a midi track. It even ended being the right midi note for HH on Addictive Drums without changing anything. Thanks for the tips and inspiration Danny!!!

Just a heads up....I have some "Transient Shaper" vids (along with a few other tips and tricks) uploading for you guys. 3 part video, but I think you'll really enjoy them. 3 parts because I didn't know to increase uploads to Youtube, that all I had to do was let them re-authorize my account. I thought they wanted some money or something. So I took care of all that. But they are just processing now. As soon as part 2 and 3 are done, I'll create a new thread and give you guys the links. :)

You won't be confused anymore Beeps...that's for sure. :) The darned second part is still processing. Not sure what's up with Youtube. Part 1 and 3 were quick...this one seems to be sort of sitting there. It's only 15 min, 4 secs. The others are like 12 mins. I did the account update that allows me more than 15 min vids...so I'm good there. But this one seems to be taking long. It's uploaded, it's just "processing". I'll be in touch. :)

It's probably the time of day. Everyone is off work/back from school and their servers are getting slammed. I'm really glad you are doing a vid on the TS's though. I kind of get it but most tuts I've read/watched are rather vague. The first few times I tried to use the one in Sonar it ended up just sounding like a bit crusher or something. Totally unusable but that was obviously user error.
Cheers, dude. Just watching a really crappy segment on mixing guitars right now on Groove3 but I've already gotten through 3 hours of the series so I'm sucking it up just so I don't miss something important. Dude's just fiddling with knobs randomly for 20 minutes though. :-/
