Yes, I just used the information in my store account and it all worked fine. It would appear a little maintenance has been going on today.

They all sound so good... hard to choose... I think I'm going to have to get my free one and buy one and that way I get 2 at half price!!! I should be in sales. :)

I'm leaning towards Journeys (I dig world instruments) and Angelicals (Vangelis is one of my favorite keyboardists).

whine whine whine. Cakewalk didn't pay for my braces. Cakewalk didn't circumcise my adopted iguana! The appropriate response to a freebie is thank you.Every time some aunt gave me a disgusting fruit cake i just said thank you, gave her a hug and tossed it when she left. Cakewalk owes you squat. If you don't feel X4 or whatever version is not worth it, then don't buy it.

another lame synth player

I own most of the AAS synths and many of the soundbanks, which are all awesome, BTW. So this is an outstanding freebie, as far as I am concerned. The player is very limited - but the full synths are excellent. If you are into synths at all, they sometimes go on sale as no-brainers - I think I picked up UltraAnalog for $20.
Different strokes.....

I picked up Cardinals. Is there a VSTi that comes with Producer X2 that will play these sounds or will I need to get one from AAS? Thanks

All of the AAS soundbanks come with the AAS player VSTi. Installing the soundbank installs the player. If you have the appropriate AAS synth, you can install the soundbank as presets for the synth.

I got Journeys, though I was tempted by Angelicals.

Last night I laid down a lead line using the EBow-lution sound.  It's SOO expressive.  I loved it.

Thank you Cakewalk.

And I agree with dubdisciple.  People who complain about free gifts give a little insight to their character, I feel.

I already had Journeys, Entangled Species and 30.whateveritis, so I went with Kitnetix. Hopefully it will be as inspiring and useful as the others... I like their stuff, but I definitely prefer to be able to use them in the real instruments (I have String Studio and Chromaphone) so as to tweak and twiddle and personalize...

...i was amazed in a bad way that a company like aas... would have such a bare-bones player.  not a single parameter you can adjust besides volume???

No effects mix or anything else but volume. There are some pretty nifty sounds here, though not tweakable at all.

Do the offered presets/free AAS player at least respond to Modulation Wheel (CC 1) / Aftertouch / Pitch Bend and Tempo Change (in case of arpeggios or sequences)??

WOW AND HERE I WAS PRAYING FOR BRICK LIMITER.

They are not going to give away the products they sell. You're going to get free samples of other companies' products. Take it or leave it.

I just downloaded the Cardinals soundbank. Exactly what I wanted, a bunch of achromatic, microtonal stuff.
Bells, gongs, logs! Things I'd have trouble designing myself.

Think of aurora borealis music or Vangelis Invisible Connections. I love it.

Thanks Cakewalk !

I picked up "Journeys" and the pitch and Mod Wheels seem to work with many of the sounds. Not sure about aftertouch yet, but the tempo thing works great!

From the demos I was considering, Journeys was a strong contender.  I have to say there were a lot of UA1 based packs that sounded more complex than anything I was able to get out of that synth.

The two bass packs were never under consideration.

Thanks for the responses so far.    It's good to know that most people are happy with the ones they picked.

I thought the same as I ran through the sounds first time.

Have a play around with EBow-lution, I think it's called.  Use the pitch bend and mod wheels.  I found it to be really expressive.  As close to the kind of expression I can get from a guitar as I've found on a keyboard patch.

I'm sure there will be other patches, but that's just the one I've played with.

Have you read the PDF that explains/describes each patch?  It's quite helpful.
