Cakewalk went through this same experience years ago when they released their x64 version. Few available plug ins.

Regarding Superior, they announced Monday that they would have Ezkeys, EZDrummer and Superior Drums possibly by this Friday but definitely within 2 weeks.

UAD is critical for me. Really can't mix without those. They announced they would have all of their plugins ready in 2013, that means it won't be soon.

Regarding the comment about waiting to release when AAX is ready from other vendors. It was never going to work that way. Plugin vendors really don't want to have to make the investment and many companies were waiting to see if Avid would ship before committing resources and a timeline. First the horse, then the commitment to buying feed.

i understand.. it was just wishful thinking on my part.

i wanted to believe Avid were working diligently close with the top vendors. i even saw a video(s) of Bill Putnam Jr. and some guy from Izotope saying their products should be ready by the launch date. i guess if i were a vendor, i would kind of resent having to rewrite a program that was exclusive to one entity. i don't know that side of the business, but what exactly does the vendor get out of it, for the man-hours??  i dont know how Avid does it. here they have their biggest release in 5 yrs ..but there is a catch! (drum roll)......you can't compose or mix using your favorite stuff, as of yet. (trumpet plunger) whomp, whomp whommpp.
