I have a couple of items I will check on immediately and report back on. These items have to do with *snip* selection behavior.

I look forward to a report on this. Please start a thread when you get a chance. That selection bug is a nightmare once it starts snowballing.

At the absolute very least = there are so many extras, value added selling points, that the upgrade fees seem kind of negligible.

At the core of the program = there seem to be an array of features that have been asked for on this forum ie they are listening to us.

The Quad Curve EQ looks as though it has been refined, and frankly, "I can not think of a vst plugin eq, that is better than the quad curve eq in Sonar."

Colors!!  We seem to slowly be moving beyond this, "gun metal gray, sterile operating room," look and feel back to the land of, "fun to look at, and easy on the eyes."  Although, IMHO, I can see the GUI needing 1 more round of X tweaking to be really wicked.

I think its a pretty snazzy upgrade.  I don't know if I will early adopt, but I will likely adopt sooner than later.

too many lasers...

It does look amazing.

I'm gonna have to wait a month or so before purchasing - there is a list in my head of priorities for what cash we have, and Sonar isn't at the top (yet!), more like 4th or 5th.

149$... :(
99$ is OK but no ProChannel moduls. In Sonar X2 Pro we have it.
I don`t need new plugins NOMAD and new VSTi - this is new 50$? Thank you... :(

A few quick things just off the top of my head.
The colors....great!!
The EQ fly-out with spectrum analyzing....great!!
I have been comping guitar tracks to get a feel for the new way that this works....Great!!
I installed a new VST and forgot to shutdown X3 while doing it. A window popped up and it re-scanned without me telling it to....great!!
In X2 I had a few graphical glitches from time to time. Not in X3 at this point. Hopefully they are gone for good.
The new way that your plugins are sorted.....spectacular!!!

In the area of minor but appreciated and unexpected improvements. One of my project templates is quite big. Loads of VSTi's and preloaded samples. X3 loads it at around 60% of the time X2 does. It could just be a random fluke of course and only valid for this one. But I did time it. Would be interesting if others notice the same.

Watching the videos and reading the "What's New" newsletter now, but not ready to commit to $150:

1. The new QuadCurve EQ with underlay spectrum analyzer looks excellent!  It's what they should have done back in the X1 days! I know I submitted a Feature Request asking for the EQ over an analyzer. Me plus a thousand other disgruntled fools. After all, it only makes sense.
2. Self-scanning VST folders = time saver.
3. Custom track-color widget = perfect implementation! Too bad even preference-based colors in X2 never worked right. I'd be curious to see what issues come with the color widget.
4. Addictive Drums looks like it is about 100x better than Session Drummer 3. Less kits though, but can SD3 kits be loaded into AD?
5.  AAS instruments; Strum Acoustic Session looks interesting but could be frustrating.

4) Addictive drums only loads its own adpak format as far as I know.
5) I have used the full electric version on a couple of things. It's not that frustrating once you get it and then it's quite logical.
But you really need to read the manual for it. It's a great VSTi for inspiration.

I like plugs as much as anyone else! My concern is how is the CPU usage? Is it running more efficiently? Is the latency any better? It would be nice if someone would run a comparison between X2 and X3 with a project full of plugs and let us know how the comparison is.

This is ideal for me as I don't have any of the things like Melodyne, Addictive Drums, Lounge Lizard, etc.  Those two alone are worth the upgrade price.

Another thing that I have noticed and am quite happy to report is that the graphical issues that
I used to have with Waves plugins is no longer an issue. I can actually change the values on the sliders
in Super Tap (delay) without the sliders jumping all over the place just to end up in some random (unwanted) place.
X3a is making this fella a happy man.
