It's probably too late for X4 but I am hoping that every time I drag a sample from the browser onto the time line in X5 that Marvin Gaye's estate automatically gets a credit embedded in to the File Info and a royalty is paid direct from my pay pal account.

K.I.S.S. that's my policy.

I am also looking forward to a more comprehensive list of mindmelds™ than came in X4.

best regards,
mike

My wishlist would include a way to use my EEG device (er, yeah, I actually have a real one ) as a input plug-in so I can record myself while I'm dreaming.  That's the only place I can play guitar well enough.

I'd like to see Sonar handle more than 255 VST/VSTi's. If you have more than 255 VST/VSTi's and you're not using a custom plugin layout, you'll get an error message. This is undocumented in the reference manual. I haven't experienced this issue in other DAWS I own.

I do not use a custom plugin layout and I can see all 732 of my VSTs.

I believe this has been true since X1 for sure (matbe 8.5.3?).

But yes, an unlimited VST list would be soooooooo cooool as I've had to remove many of my mono plugs (in the hopes that I don't ever really need mono plugs).

Yes Virginia, Bapu does have more than 732. If only SONAR would allow them to be known.

new wishlist?
ok, i want notation :) much better notation and strong connect between notation and midi and automation in track view. For example - if i add pp and crescendo this change my automation. Slurs add more note lengths and staccato note shorter and etc. And of course everything have option for change values (pp = 20 velocity and possible change to 30 or 127 for all pp in track, in score or only selected). For slurs and staccatos same.

I want an autowhine feature that allows X.x to generate a pre-composed whine thread directly to forum without having to leave DAW.  This would have presets like "Long rant on why Sonar should be more like third party", "Old guy acting crotchety about modern music despite it having nothing to do with Sonar itself", "get rid of this feature because i don't use it and ad this", "sracasm with no purpose other than stirring the pot" and the ever popular "I want a new patch".  of course this feature would also be released as a VST for those who don't actually use SONAR X.x

5. Celemony Melodyne implemented in sonar,  ( V-Vocal ) is not good enough ( my opinion again )

Since Roland will be gone soon, I'm wondering if this is now a distinct possibility......

FWIW, Melodyne implementation would take a substantial development cycle. I don't think you'd see it in a point release. which X3a would likely be.

I'd like to see Sonar handle more than 255 VST/VSTi's. If you have more than 255 VST/VSTi's and you're not using a custom plugin layout, you'll get an error message. This is undocumented in the reference manual. I haven't experienced this issue in other DAWS I own.

Wish granted :)
