Horible pitch with Dimension Pro -- Melodyne to the rescue
I needed a male chorus sound. Dimension has a decent patch for this -- except that the pitch is almost an entire half step flat, and evidently there are no controls in Dimension to change the pitch center. This is a known problem. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1992066 In the past, I would have hunted around for another synth to do the job. But with Melodyne, problems like this are quickly fixed. I just bounced my Dimension track to audio, and then ran it through Melodyne. Why would anybody ever release patches this badly out of tune?

I see that there is actually a "Tune" setting in the tiny grid under the patch name. Get out the magnifying glass and set that value in cents. That male chorus patch was about 70 cents flat.

Make sure you have the latest version of Dim Pro.
My understanding is the last patch was supposed to have fixed some tuning problems.

My understanding is the last patch was supposed to have fixed some tuning problems.
I am using the version that I installed 2 weeks ago with X3. That should be current, right? I don't think the problem is with Dimension per se. It seems there are some samples that are just really off. Has anybody played with the internals of those samples. Considering this is one I might want to use in the future, it there a way I can adjust the pitch of the sample myself? It is off by almost a half step.

It seems that this problem is not limited to Dimension. I have SampleTank2 and the SonicSynth2 plugs and there are some patches in there with these sorts of issues (not many, thankfully) and some drum patches in that grouping that you have to hold the key down to get the drum to play out its whole length - talk about useless!
I also found there are some REALLY bad loop points in the Garritan Personal Orchestra that came with Dimension a few versions back. It's in one of the cello patches. It makes the patch pretty much useless for several of the lower notes - too bad because, like that chorus patch, it's otherwise a pretty cool sound.

open the corresponding sfz and edit it with the tune= setting of course, if you're talking about the male choir aahhhhs they are in tune up until a certain point... then out... then in.

Yes, I expect some variation in order to get the chorus effect. But in the case of the men's chorus, it is about 70 cents flat. If you play a C, it sounds a sharp B -- nowhere close to a C.

I have a similar problem to the OP in LASS 1.5 Most of the solo cello samples have an annoying pitch 'jump' near the tails. Don't know how to fix this one!
