Surprised Reason is so low. Now that they've integrated audio and have 3rd party modules it's a dream package.

I am glad lapieuvre posted that the poll was up!! We've come a long way from the meager 10 votes we had when word got out

Edit: I just realized why X3 is at the end... a guy said "X2" and the poll replied "Sonar X2 is good, but was released in 2012, This year we have Sonar X3. Added to poll" Originally X3 was not even included, so we had a late start.

+1... the poll is also recognition for the baker's who busted their butts to make X3 happen and for the community that CW is. X3 has done some good things for all of us, I think. 300+ votes in 24 hours... and is probably ALL due to this forum.

yes but what are the demographics of visitors to that site?, i apologize if i am being overly cynical this morning but i feel somewhat embarrassed that SONAR X3 is running lead at a site with a huge ad banner, STORE in caps, GIVEAWAY'S!!, alongside ads for tips for a slighter belly, no vote here... just my opinion peace

Win 10 (64 bit), i7-2600k 3.4GHz , 8 GB RAM, SATA III (500GB SSD - System, 2TB WD Black - Data), Sonar Platinum x64, m-audio Profire 610

I believe Pro Tools were on the page last year, I dont know who won, but I think this would not be much of an influance. Most of the voters use the DAW they are voting for.

When I voted X3 was in fourth place and now it is way out in front. IMHO this is a big feather in the cap of the bakers!

I do not want a free mug, it would be to hard to DL so how about another free Pro Channel module?

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

FWIW, The reader demographic will determines who "wins".
ie: FL Studio scores big on many of these online polls... but (IMO) it's not a traditional DAW application.
I'm not sure it means a whole lot...

X3 (for the most part) has been a well-received release.
Here's to the bakers on a job well done!

Yeah, Fruity Loops just won a Music Radar reader's poll, which is exactly what you'd expect, given their target readership: youngsters working through their early attempts at making electronica. Not knocking that, or the people doing it, but I'd bet on Fruity Loops not appearing at all in a similar poll in, say, Sound On Sound. Horses for courses.

For starting out not even on the list is a good showing. The important part is "After this, in December we will post the results and reviews for best DAWs."

I think X3 won a review spot, so heads up

I wonder if this is a 'forum effect'? Do the other DAWs have forums as active as this?

- Sonar Platinum 64-bit; Reaper; Ableton Live 9; Samplitude
- PugetSystems Serenity Mini: WIN 10-PRO 64-bit; Intel Quad i7-4670 turbo to 3.8GHz; 16GB RAM; ASUS Gryphon Z89 - Antec P180 case.
- Focusrite Saffire Pro 40

Re: X3 is leading the PACK!!! November 12, 13 9:20 PM (permalink)
with regard to reason.. sadly , no vst .. and YEP thats a MASSIVE (pun intended :) ) deal breaker.. I use it , but I'd prefer it to be a rack rather than a DAW tbh. it's something I've used for years, but I'd rather another DAW for mixing. (e.g. fabfilter fx etc :D )

dub turbo is infamous for it's affiliates stealing fxpansions customer list and spamming us.. lets just say it's cack

how many of the poll use multiple products ? so yep any poll will always be skewed.. I work differently I find in all 3 things I use.

the sonar user base is best known out of the DAW's it's even been mentioned in previous mag reviews.
