rtucker55 Sorry, didn't try that. Hopefully, they are just making some updates or something. Hope something bad didn't happen.
When I read that, it made me realize how petty my little checkout frustration was. Hopefully, nothing bad did happen with Bernie's condition. I just tried again and the order for the bundle succeeded, so it probably was just some site maintenance or something minor. Cool! It was nostalgic watching YouTube video demos of the Echoplex and Echorec emulations in the echo plug. They sound like I remember them from the 60's and don't have the common problem with the tape breaking. EDIT: BTW, Nick at Don't Crack responded to my ticket and said that they ran out of serial numbers and had to contact Nomad Factory to get more. That's the reason no one could buy them for a while.

I'm anxious to play with ECHO - My EP3 is my favorite guitar FX unit and I've never heard any reproduction come even close. Fortunately, I have a good friend that is a tech and really knows how to maintain these machines! I once even had the privilege of speaking to Mike Battle (the creator of the Echoplex) shortly before he passed. I got to tell him he had an official fan club here in Omaha - as I have a number of friends that all use them. :)

clintmartin I would love to hear more about the Magnetic and echoes plugins....I believe you have all talked me into getting Cosmos already. This is a nice thing for Dontcrack to do.
I haven't used much of Echoes, but you really have to hear what Magnetic II does on drums......it's my goto and definitely falls into the "this doesn't suck anymore" plug. You can use it practically on all instruments, but it truly shines on drums.

Me too. It is a really cool effect and, in the 60's, it seemed amazing. Tried to splice a broken tape on one (I was only about 13yrs old) but the splice was audible. Very cool that you were able to talk with the creator!

I've got a box of blank 8 track tapes, a razor blade, tape splicing tape, a head demagnetizer, a splicing block, and cleaning solution. Talk about retro! And the ECHOES plug-in doesn't require any of that - or a dedicated tech! :)

yorolpal It's interesting because if they were truly trying to raise money for Bernie it would be a bit crass to set an arbitrary...and undisclosed...cutoff point.
not really , we hear about the cost of hospital care there.. and if you bothered to read the notice on the website, it does state till the 31st of december

Sorry to hear this, I'll happily buy the bundle. It not only goes to a good cause, but it's useful and at a great price. I just tried to buy it, but it looks like it's out of stock. As soon as it's back, my money is ready. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Bernie.

I just bought the bundle. I guess they have more serial numbers up now. Edit for quick review...I have these installed and authorized now and took a quick few minutes to play around a bit. My first impression of echoes is very positive. As a guitar player I've been looking for my go to delay and this could very well be it. It seems to have eveything you could want or need. I then added in Cosmos. I can't wait for enough time to put this on some songs I've been working on. They sounded better as soon as I turned it on. I love it when that happens. Magnetic II will take a little more time before I comment on it. It did what I would expect a tape sim to do, but with all of the options it has I didn't have time to tweak much. All in All I have to say I haven't been this excited by a $49 purchase ever, and it's for such a great cause too!

I just purchased Echoes and Cosmos! I have terminal salivary cancer and finished 7 weeks of radiation in the face at Easter, 2013 and was given 1 more year. I lost 70 pounds and it took me until October to gain strength to do much but I am back recording, mostly for young vocalists who have worked with me and who are ambitious about their career in music and the recording process is another tool for them as they sit in on comping and EQ sessions and such. The ability to do this has been a Godsend and a great joy for me (thank you Sonar and community). I am looking greatly forward to these plugins (thank you Don't Crack). And, oh yes, I am going to make it well past the 1 year they gave me, just watch... All the best Mr. Bernie Torelli, it's a journey and struggle with a purpose. I am praying for you.

Way to go robbyk! Your an inspiration! I'll add you to my prayers as well. On post #14 I talked about my Mother in law. Her fight with cancer ended yesterday and her funeral will be Saturday. A truly great and Godly woman. On a happier note, I think you'll like Echoes and Cosmos. I've been playing around with them most of the day.

Cosmos is looking like a winner so far. Very helpful plugin. Echoes will be great for my guitar tool box. I really don't know about Magnetic II yet. It seems to me that the tape sims are easy to over use. If used subtly they all sound pretty much the same. I now own Saturn, Magnetic II and Sonar tape sim. I have the demo version of Reelbus.

Just picked up the Magnetics Bundle II.
My Echoplex EP-3 is dead - fires up/lights up, but the transport doesn't run ..it's a motor thing. I miss that box I checked local - no one fixes them - so sending it out would be triple what the Mag Bundle is. The sim should be good enough ..plus Cosmos & Mag II is gravy.

Dear friends, I am today very pleased to announce that Bernie had an awaited spine surgery yesterday that appears to have been very successful. He wrote a short message to let all of us know that the surgery removed most not to say all of the terrible pain he was enduring these past months due to numerous tumours and fractured vertebras in his lumbar spine... It is also with great pleasure that I am able to announce that we have already collected and sent over $100 000 to Bernie's family ! But that is unfortunately still far away from the necessary funds needed to cover Bernie's growing medical costs... We will therefore keep the "" promotion going until January 10, 2013.So please use any of the links below to spread the good word as far and loud as you possibly can... • Please share our "Raising Funds" post on your page. • You may also want to RT (re-tweet) our announcement on On behalf of Bernie and his family, I want to thank ALL of you for your great support and your kind generosity. This has also been a great opportunity for many of you to try and purchase software at a very attractive price. It is simply amazing to read the incredible user testimonials posted here at Cakewalk and elsewhere ! We at DontCrack want to wish you a very merry Xmas and a beautiful holiday season ! Thank you so much ! Eric Nolot CEO & President DontCrack.com
