X3d Dropouts problem

Can someone give me a clue why I am getting audio dropouts now that I installed the 3d update, never had any issues until now. I moved my buffer size from 512 to 1024 and still have the issue. Not liking this : ( Is it something in my settings that got moved around with the update?

Thanks, Ken

From several types of performance posts, I think that the performance of SONAR has been regressed in X3D.

Upon more troubleshooting, it seems that other projects (pre X3d) are running fine, it is my current project that is dropping out which I started during the X3c version. What could it be?

Sorry Guitarmech111, I don't get what your stating.

There's plenty of information across the forum on how to optimize your setup, when you are told the audio engine has stopped please click "Help" in the bottom right hand corner, more info there.

I reported a project I had in X3C and it is corrupted somehow with X3D and will not process audio in the audio track. New X3D projects do not exhibit what I reported.

I wonder if there is indeed a regression in X3D from X3C created/saved projects?

If you think the project is corrupted try creating a bundle. Close Sonar, open the bundle, save as a project. Apparently this defragments it (according to online help). Thanks...

I did and it behaves the same way. I posted that I have a bundle for download if you want to try it in my other post.

I wouldn't quite dismiss X3D project corruption and performance regression.

Actually reducing the playback i/o buffers helped solve the "issues" I was/am experiencing with a project ported over from X1.
Interesting that I am using a UFX (USB) interface.
I've had 1 or 2 audio engine dropouts since, but I was at a point where playback stopped every time in exactly the same spot.
No audio snap or melodyne/v-vocal instances "lurking" about.

I get dropouts when I play with other apps when doing Sonar playback, I hadn't experienced that before... Anyways...

    Ken,

I have noticed that some upgrades and patches have made unexpected changes to my settings.  I had a similar problem to what you are seeing with one of the X2 patches.  Somehow I ended up with a project with mixed 16 bit and 24 bit audio files.  Lots of clicks and pops.  I reset my settings to convert to 24 bit on import and record bit depth and things were OK on new projects.  I had to manually convert the 16 bit tracks to get the project to play well.

I have also had upgrades/patches unexpectedly change my playback and record timing master which caused clicks, pops, and synch problems.

It is worth checking your settings after patches.  I keep a notebook with screenshots of my settings that I verify after major changes now just to be safe.
