Hi, Pedro. My thing is if you are that talented then do something interesting. To do otherwise is kind of a slap in the face of whomever or whatever bestowed you with that gift.
...
Then again I probably think too much and nobody will really give a sh*t anyway so the joke will be on me.

The music itself, that Eno does is not about thinking. It is, probably closer to a meditation than anything else.

I do think, sometimes, that we are too enamored and stuck on beat music, and we think that the only things that can be good are those that are "recognizable"  from a mental point of view. Folks like Eno, and others are not about that at all, and this is the part that is hard to deal with and sometimes appreciate.

It is a fabulous album, and you might just think of it as an extended jam ... of a different instrument or other.

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

I'm an ADHD, Type B person and a dreamer.  That makes a difference.  While I like and can appreciate a lot of metal out there, I can only take it in small doses.

Surprisingly enough, I don't have that issue with metal, as long as it is well defined and played. The majority of the issues I have with the mode is that most of the folks playing it, are not great enough musicians to make the whole thing better. It's sort of a cookie cutter mentality, and sound, for my ears.

Thus, just like Dream Theater, what they do is very much an European thing, that has more roots in the history of music, than it does rock'n'roll, and the fact that it is "metal'ic" is weird for me. Transpose John's guitar as a violin playing exactly the same notes ... you would be all over it in 5 seconds as some unbelievable piece of music.

I mean after all, I even like Hawkwind, and for their albums it's almost a special effect stretched out over 5 minutes to 10 to create a different feeling and a new piece of music. I also happen to like the keyboards by Simon House ... and his violin. Stunning is the word!

I think if you slip-shrink it in Sonar to say 3min 25sec it might actually sound like something.... ??... maybe?

Ooo...  I forgot about this trick!  Someone did different timings to some songs (links were posted here, maybe by Sharke?) with very interesting results.  I actually preferred the slower timing on Dolly Parton's Jolene.

Well, to me other people will probably say - What drugs is this person on?"
There is another way to relax that involves no music at all.
