Hey Lynn, I listen to this one the last couple of nights while I walk the big yellow dog. I may have commented last time you posted this one, but for me it has a real Joe Walsh feel to it. I like it a lot, lots of stuff going on, fun song. I can't say much about the mix, at least nothing you'd want to go by from an iPhone. I like the bass riff and the tone of the guitar tracks they sound great. Overall this is one of my favorites that you have recorded. Thank goodness for voice recognition texting, I can actually, comment while on the walk with the big yellow dog.

@ ralphwiggum-Don, I appreciate your kind words and time! @ MakeShift-Mike, thanks so much for your input. My new tablet has now become part of my mixing platform, which means I'm mixing for smaller and smaller speakers all the time. It's tricky!

Wookie, thanks for staying with this. You are so right! I took this for a spin in my car, yesterday, and I immediately realized that the sound filled up the area better than ever before. It makes me wonder how I missed that before, but that's why I come here for help. Thanks to all!

Really Cool Tune Lynn, It comes over a little distorted on my set-up but that may have been intended as a little dirty mix.

Hi Alan, it was not meant to be distorted, and does not come across that way on my system. I do master my songs to be approximately as loud as commercial releases but keep the headroom at -3.5 db with light limiting. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and bringing this to my attention. I love your vocal covers.

Great song Lynn. It's a wild ride, and will make a super end to your compilation. I want to mention that I think the bass guitar is perhaps a bit TOO prominent in the mid frequencies (sounds kinda "nasal" to me). A lot of the bass riffs sound like low pitched guitar leads and not BASS. IMHO you might want to consider separating the bass and guitar frequency ranges from each other a bit more so they don't compete as much.

Hi Walt, I appreciate your comments on this. I hadn't thought of that perspective, as I was mainly going for a "classic" Fender sound. Since this is the kind of advice that I look for, I will consider that on the next evaluation. Sounds like a quick adjustment. I was looking for a Tony Levin approach, but I don't know if I got anywhere near that level.

I really like this song Lynn! Very cool tune. The mix sounds fine to me...It all comes down to what you like at this point. I don't hear anything that leeps out as needing fixed. Congrats on the finished work. It always feels good to end one and start something new.

Lynn- a most excellent opus. love the vocal harmony and vox treatment in general- the whole feel here conjures up a Peter Gabriel sound reminiscent of his 'Sledgehmer' days - crunchy Strats twang nicely - Definite foot tapping immediately with groove firmly established. nice work - this is something I'd definitely buy and listen to :)
very cool!!

Clint - thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I think I'll sit on this for a while. Robbie - thanks for listening again. I've learned that when I play a commercial CD in my car while driving on the highway, most things drop out of a mix except drums, bass, and vocals. Thus, I mix that way, now days. Jimmy - thanks for listening and your comments. I'll take your advice. Freddy - thanks for taking the time! I must get to work on my British pop, now. Daryl - I appreciate you taking the time to listen twice. I'm glad you like the marimba because when I posted this a few years ago, people were suggesting I drop them. I just couldn't bear to do that. Daren - you've uncovered my muse! PG has long been an influence on me. And, please, keep posting your throwaway songs. I love em.

what a nice snarky vibe! dig it! love all the little parts that add up, left and right... i'd love to hear the kick and the bass guitar louder. maybe a bit of the higher mids taken out of the bass, and then more level.
