Sorry for the delay Elffin, yes older projects should find the patches fine if you move them.

NOt so sure... tried it out and it woudln't load the patch.... so had to move my multisamples folder back... any thoughts?

Check #1, maybe a trailing slash at the end in your file path?
Or maybe you need to edit a different part of the registry (check this thread for alternative registry entry options).
The registry is what tells Dimension Pro where the samples are, not the project file (at least this is my perception).
Prog files are a totally different thing and (so far) cannot be moved (unless you do symbolic links maybe).

A stupid question, Why move it at all? in my system it's only 26.5 Mb and hardly a hassle being in the Program Data folder for 64 bit and 26.7 on the x86 folder for a whopping total of 53.2 Mb of Burgeoning disk space(an exaggeration of course). When you start having to mess with the registry to suit a need such as this in my opinion you really need a durn good reason.

A stupid question, Why move it at all?
If you ever need to reinstall Dimension Pro, the existing programs may get overwritten. Many of us have added various expansion packs and other one-off programs (e.g. the recent Gibson bass supplied by Anderton). It would be a pain to have to put this all back together from scratch. The DimPro programs folder is one of several folders that I would want to keep intact whenever I migrate PCs. Same with track templates & drum maps and even more important with multisamples for various softsynths. Having all of these folders in obscure places on the C-drive mixed with the more ephemeral stuff makes migrating or upgrading more difficult. I would be sure to overlook something. Having them all together on a separate drive makes it easier to organise.

True to certain extant, I myself keep my Multisample folder on a different drive and when i install expansions or create new presets I make absolutely sure the samples are installed to that folder(including SFZ and duplicates or converted samples and user created folders). As far as the programs are concerned its just a matter of pressing F5 in the browser to refresh the Program lists and folders from that location so even if I loose it, it can be rebuilt fairly easy IMHO. I can see it as a problem for those that spread their samples across many outside folders having this issue.

As far as the programs are concerned its just a matter of pressing F5 in the browser to refresh the Program lists and folders from that location so even if I loose it, it can be rebuilt fairly easy IMHO.
Expansion packs include programs as well as multisamples. Pressing F5 won't bring them back if they're missing from the folder.

Have finally received confirmation from Cake.
"Unfortunately the Programs folder location in Dimension Pro is hard-coded and cannot be changed."
(This should not be confused with the multisamples folder which is movable).
I'll throw in a feature request when it's back online.

I'm glad you went through the pain of this so I (and others) now know to leave everything as is. It bugged me to have to install something I didn't want to install on my SSD but it looks like it's the only way. Thanks  . Grum.

The Programs part is not that much space really, but the Multisamples folder can be rather large. I did move this off my SSD.
