Wookie, I just export in XD3, 44100 sample rate, 16 bit depth, triangle dithering.
 
Is that the issue?

Everyone has you covered on the mix/volume issues Keith, so here's how it struck me as song (bearing in mind country isn't my thing)
 
Well written song, good lyrics, great melody, good hook. Song seemed overlong by about 90 secs, the middle 8 was a long time coming. I think this would work well as a 'live' arrangement, but seems overstretched for just listening. The female vocal was very nice, but a little under-used, I could imagine her doubling/harmonizing more lines as the song builds.
 
All opinions, of course..
