MIDI Preview always plays on first track

Whenever I attempt to preview any MIDI clips from the browser, they always play on whatever is the first synth loaded.  For example, suppose I have my project set up so that  I have an instance of Kontakt loaded with piano on the first track, another Kontakt instance doing bass on the second track, and AD2 on the third track for drums.  If I try to audition a MIDI or PTN drum pattern from the browser, I will hear it play on the piano track.  If I delete the piano track it will start playing bass.

This happens regardless of which track I have highlighted or which have input echo enabled.  I am wondering if this is something I am missing or whether this is actually a bug.

Select the preview synth from the drop down in the media browser tab. You need to load the synth you want to use first though unless it's already there.

Hi-

I saw this with X3 but it works properly with SONAR 2015.  If you're on X3, there's a workaround which I can dig up if you need it.
Edit: It's here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3076963

Thanks.  For some reason I missed the little dropdown on the media browser.
